We have been coming for years to sail but this was by far our favorite. We were delighted to have Derren play wonderful music on his guitar and harmonica while we sailed the sound with our friends on a private charter ! We’ll be back next year !

Darin was amazing! What an incredible experience. He is so knowledgeable about the area and of sailing in general. And so friendly and chill. We felt like we were hanging out with an old friend. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, it was still the best time. Thanks for the guitar, harmonica, and singing - smooth sailing, and the sweater!

3 ladies from Arizona took a trip in September to Mystic. We chartered this sailboat and we enjoyed every minute of it. Captain Darrin was super nice and accommodating. We had nice conversation, a few drinks, birthday cupcake and enjoyed the ride into the evening.

Darin is not only a great captain but also a lovely host and talented musician. We ended up with a chilly summer afternoon and us girls were not fully prepared for the weather. Darin gave us all sweaters to wear! We had an amazing, relaxing day on the water thanks to the music and good company provided by Darin, his guitars and harmonica. Thank you Darin! Darin and Charlotte were great. We sailed from Noank to Fishers Island on a 2 hour charter. Darin played guitar whe we ate lobster rolls and drank champagne. We saw seals and the coast I grew up on

Wow like even better than we imagined! Best New England summer afternoon. Being on Poet’s Lounge was like having one of my nicest friends invite me to sail on his boat. One couldn’t ask for a more skilled, attentive, and easy going host. When the weather looked bad before our trip, Darin adjusted the schedule. So glad too cause he took us to such a beautiful swimming spot! Even had a noodle for chilling in the water. The comfy cushions, Bluetooth speaker, local tips, even binoculars for a seal sighting, were all pleasant surprises. Although a private sailing charter is luxurious, Poet’s Lounge is relaxing and we felt right at home from the start (almost fell asleep a few times.) My mom is fit but older. We both appreciated that Darin was thoughtful and sensitive about her age, without making a big deal out of it. She had the best time. Even the ride back was especially fun as Darin played some really great music on his Bluetooth speaker. Gonna need to do this every summer. Maybe a girl’s trip on the New London boat!

We chartered two sail boats with Darin and his team to celebrate our sister’s bachelorette! Darin was incredibly diligent about checking the weather to ensure we had clear skies up until an hour before our reservation.

We highly recommend Darin and his team for an afternoon on the water. We enjoyed incredibly smooth sailing paired with our BYO drink and picnic while anchoring just off Fishers Island. This boating experience was the highlight of our weekend. Thank you, Darin!
