Clean hotel right near Yale. Limited food service, but the bar has great view. Within walking distance to everything - lots of dining choices nearby! Very nice lobby to sit while waiting for your ride. Only caution is that many places close when Yale is not in session so plan ahead.

Oh, Omni Hotel New Heaven at Yale, where do I begin? I booked this place to celebrate my husband’s birthday, expecting a luxurious experience as promised on their warm and inviting website. Instead, we were greeted by a circus disguised as a hotel stay.

First, let’s talk location. If you’re looking for the “heart of the hood” experience, you’ve hit the jackpot! I’m pretty sure I saw a tumbleweed of questionable origin rolling past the entrance.

Upon arrival, the valet parking situation was straight out of a comedy sketch. The parking attendant was mysteriously missing, and when I inquired about this Houdini act, I was advised to leave my car, keys in, surrounded by enthusiastic street performers—of the unsanctioned variety.

The room we received due to our early arrival bore no resemblance to the website photos unless you consider a Picasso painting "realistic." Oh, and the highly anticipated champagne and chocolates? They must have taken the scenic route to our room, arriving fashionably late with offerings that looked like they’d been sourced from the discount bin.

Sleep? Ha! The night was an orchestra of street sounds and mysterious footsteps. I think my husband and I both dreamed of being in an action movie, minus the stunts and glamorous wardrobe.

Breakfast was a no-show. When I asked about it at the front desk, the clerk’s response was so dismissive, I half-expected them to hand me a map to the nearest diner instead.

At the end of this grand adventure, I found myself $1,000 poorer and rich with tales of a birthday experience we won’t soon forget (try as we may). Note to self: Next time, I’ll book a staycation at home—it’s less eventful and considerably quieter!

We got a corner room, view was good.
Unfortunately we were not happy with the stay much. The air conditioner was not working, we tried to set it at 67 but it was kept at 73 all night. There was dust everywhere, top of the drawers, the desk and the nightstand. TV signal was not working well.

This hotel is rated as a 4-star hotel, putting it in the same class as JW and Intercontinental. I'm not quite sure it compares to those, but it is nice enough. It is showing it's age, but they keep it nice and clean. It's right in downtown New Haven, making it walkable to many of the popular museums and restaurants. The room size is decent, and it was nice that I got upgraded to a Yale view. The placement of the toilet is one of the oddest I've seen, and I hope it gets reconfigured whenever they decide to remodel.

First time at the Omni in New Haven. Great experience from the start. Kevin at the front desk was great. Nicholas at baggage was a pleasure. Our room was beautiful. Complimentary champagne while waiting to check in excellent touch of class on Labor Day weekend. Great location, fantastic hotel, amazing staff. Win win win

This hotel is super nice for a reasonable price. I only stayed for one night, but it was beautiful inside. The people up front were very helpful in checking us in. The hotel is located near bars and restaurants, which was very convenient.

It was the worst hotel experience ever. We stayed there for three days. The hotel accommodated tons of high schoolers for an event and couldn’t make sure other guests were not disturbed during nights by parties, underage drinking, yelling, and screaming. I’m absolutely fine with the hotel accommodating group events, but the fact that it couldn’t at least place other guests in separate floors was unacceptable. Tried to complain to the front desk multiple times, and people who worked there were nonchalant and didn’t stop their dangerous and even illegal behaviors. I agree with other reviews saying that it is not a 4-star hotel, otherwise they would care about the reputation and interfere these illegal activities. They also overcharged parking fees, as I didn't even have a car parked there.

Great location and honestly felt quite upscale given how affordable it was. The breakfast on the top floor was great as well. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.
