Northern Explorer Adventures, Captain Al and his crew, are the only choice for Prince William Sound luxury cruising adventures! We had an absolutely great time on the boat, eating delicious food, taking in the glaciers, kayaking, sipping great wine, etc! The crew was fantastic and very attentive to our needs. Ghen and Rena were great hostesses and ensured we had a great time. Don't listen to the disgruntled ex employee on here bashing the company. We had a great time and will be rebooking next year!

Just WOW, this was the most magical, beautiful, romantic, fun and unique experience we’ve ever had. The crew was exceptional, knowledgeable and fun to be around, the other couples were lovely and we really enjoyed their company. We still connect with them via social media. I literally recommend this vacation to everyone that mentioned Alaska, or cruise or asks about my favorite place in the world, because this trip made Alaska number 1 on our list. If you want to experience Alaska by boat, and experience parts of it you just can’t see by land, but want an intimate experience and don’t like the idea of a classic cruise, This is for you!!! It’s truly worth every penny! We also conceived our little boy on the trip, which made it even more special.

We had an absolutely phenomenal time with Captain Al and his crew in early August 2020. We Went on a family reunion for a five day cruise on Prince William sound with 10 people including two children. Absolutely phenomenal! Trip of a lifetime.

Unlike others who have reported otherwise here on Google, our trip started at 10 AM on the first day and ended at 6 PM on the last day. So it was a full five days of total fun, relaxation, and excellent food!… Including a 2 PM lunch on the deck on the last day. Despite the fact that we didn’t have the best weather in the world, (it rained 3.5 of the five days) we still had a phenomenal time. If there ever is bad weather out on the sound, you WANT to be ON this boat! There is a large state room in which we played karaoke, danced and played boardgames during the torrential rain. In addition, you can go up on the flying bridge and sit under a protective roof in the outdoors and still stay dry. Yes, unfortunately the hot tub didn’t work, but that’s not why we were there. We went kayaking, fishing, caught a bunch of salmon and rockfish, (which Ruthie, The chef, prepared for us that evening) and did some great sightseeing (even during the bad weather).

Truly, the food is first class, including Great breakfasts, delicious lunches, pre-dinner appetizers, dinner and wonderful desserts. One afternoon, the crew even served A fabulous lunch of crab salad to us on the foredeck during a magnificent sunny afternoon at the base of glaciers. There was nothing like it. Truly the trip of a lifetime!!

Our trip on the Northern Explorer was an unforgettable experience! The crew was fantastic and did everything they could to make our trip super special. Bring your appetite because the meals were amazing and the snacks in between meals delicious and plentiful. We got to see so much wildlife! We saw eagles and sea otters of course. They were pretty much everywhere we went. We saw quite a few seals and sea lions and some dolphins. But we also saw several bears (one that was actually swimming across a passage right in front of the boat) and we saw several whales. One humpback swam within a couple feet of the boat while we were drifting, waiting for for it to surface. We got very close to glaciers that had pieces breaking and falling into the water. The crew scooped up some of the pieces and we used the glacial ice in our drinks that evening. The boat was so comfortable and well equipped that we ended the trip well rested and recharged. I highly recommend the Northern Explorer experience! We’d love to go back and do it all over again.

We did a 3 day / 4 night cruise with Captain Al and crew and loved it. His team was able to find beautiful views of the glaciers, get us into secluded coves, make it easy to kayak and hike, and serve us high-end restaurant meals. We saw quite a bit of wildlife (bears, bald eagles, even porpoises), were able to fish off of the boat, and had a thoroughly relaxing and "spoiled" experience. The boat was well-kept and well-stocked, and did I mention how good the meals were?

Couldn’t be better! This private cruise is a wonderful way to experience Alaska! Captain Al and crew are friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and darn good at what they do! Captain Al has the experience that it takes to ensure the best experience, knows the quiet coves and grand glaciers, not so Mention a few fishing spots! The guest cabin was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Better than some 4 star hotels. And the FOOD!!! Imagine dining at a five star gourmet restaurant every night, with new spectacular scenery each night! I have never tasted anything so delicious- and chef Christian gives such attention to the guests desires. Can’t say enough good about it and the whole experience! We were treated like kings and queens. Well worth every penny, and then some!

Do not trust Captain Al. The boat was a dump!!! He talks a big game, but he lies about everything. Captain Al wore his pajamas during the day. Not too professional. The state rooms were rearranged last minute. There were leaks everywhere (like the Money Pit) the fumes were unbearable. The smell of the Diesel fuel and the smells from the septic tank combined with the Glade room freshener was too much to bear. Nothing on the boat worked. No hot tub, no fishing. One of our guest had to help just so we could kayak. Alaska is so beautiful. Please go see it, but not with Captain Al.

It was the best excursion that we ever on. The up close and personal stops were remarkable.
We even got to touch a glacier and had our drinks kept cool with a piece of glacial ice.
Our chef was amazing and our meals were out of a 5 star restaurant.
We can't say enough wonderful things about the crew and captain.
