Thank you to Erica and Mark for such a great tour and experience! It was my first time going on one of these trips and I was so fortunate to that Erica and Mark are so experienced because I was able to see a gray whale and many dolphins and sea lions! I saw many pelicans as well. It was such a great time and very accessible!! I didn’t get motion sick and didn’t need to take Dramamine which I typically do. Our boat got the added bonus of all the education that Erica and Mark so kindly shared with us. Thank you for a lifetime experience!

Shout out Erica and Mark for the most memorable whale watching experience! We saw a dolphin leaving the harbor which must’ve been a good omen because we caught grey whales within 5 minutes of getting out on the open water. Then we saw a couple hundred dolphins, that came right up to the boat and hung out with us for a while. We saw a purple striped jellyfish and finished the trip off with the sea lions. It was pretty magical. Erica and Mark were so awesome. We want to do your orca tour in Oxnard next 🙂 will be seeing you guys again. Thanks again!! Worth the money to be on the little boat! Mark has a little drone too so he took great photos for us so we could enjoy and be present.

My wife and I had a truly life-changing experience with Newport Coastal Adventure. Our crew—Erica, Mark, and Dave—was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and made this an unforgettable adventure.

One of the most amazing moments was when we found ourselves surrounded by hundreds of dolphins. Mark and Erica suggested we lay at the front of the boat, putting us right next to these incredible creatures—it was surreal! As if that wasn’t enough, we were then surprised by three gray whales making their journey up the coast toward Alaska.

I highly recommend this specific boat adventure to both visitors and locals. Being so close to the wildlife and having such a personal connection with the crew made the experience truly special. The two hours flew by, and even just cruising at high speeds on the water was an absolute blast.

We flew in from MD to visit a friend and it was my first time going whale watching. Captain Erica and Molly were amazing; we got to see 3 grey whales and they made sure to get us close enough to get the full experience. We stayed out on the water extra time to see the whales dive and surface multiple times and they took us to see dolphins and seals additionally. Molly also airdropped her phenomenal pictures to us after the tour. Will certainly make sure to stop here every time I visit Cali, thanks so much again!!!

I had the pleasure of going on Newport Coastal Adventure’s Ultimate Whale Watching trip twice in a 3-day span. The first trip was so memorable that I had to come back for more.

On Sunday, Delaney and Mark were fantastic guides, and on Tuesday, Delaney and Molly were equally wonderful. The team's friendliness and deep knowledge truly enhanced the experience, making the thrill of seeing the ocean come alive with whales and dolphins even more unforgettable.

The small boats added an extra layer of excitement, keeping us close to the action while maintaining an intimate and adventurous atmosphere. The energy among the passengers was infectious, with many fulfilling bucket list dreams, which made the entire experience feel uplifting and magical.

As a local, I feel incredibly fortunate to have access to such an extraordinary adventure. These trips have inspired me to return and explore more of the breathtaking marine life. In July I flew from KY to CA to check a whale tour off my bucket list. It was simply incredible. We were on a zodiac with 10 people + a captain and guide. Our captain Ryan and guide Mark took us 32 miles up the coast at 40 mph. We saw two blue whales diving for krill around Oceanside. Our guide estimated they were 70-80 feet. We watched them dive and come back up about 8-10 minutes later. We watched each do this 4 times. The second one dove deeper and showed its fluke each time. Our guide took his drone up and got some epic shots. Such an unforgettable experience. I loved the small boat and group, which made for a more intimate experience. I will be back next year to hopefully see killer or humpback whales!

Captain Delaney was awesome. My kids and I had such a great trip! This is our second time. The staff were very informative and we learned so much. They even air dropped their professional photos to us at the end for free!! It's a small boat and it goes fast so you don't rock as much compared to a larger boat. Dress warmly! Once the boat speeds up on the water is gets super cold!

I went on a FANTASTIC whale watching tour with Captain Delaney and Mark today! I highly recommend the smaller group tour on the speed boats. Keeping in mind that they don't decide whether whales are in the vicinity or not, we saw FOUR humpbacks, a pod of over a thousand dolphins and some rambunctious sea lions today! I couldn't believe it! What an amazing adventure! I've gone whale watching elsewhere before and I was sad to not see them. This made it worth it! My photos aren't as great as the ones Mark sent to the group, but I'm sharing anyway! I will absolutely be back again when I'm in the area!
