It’s a great little mountain, perfect for a couple of days of skiing. I don’t recommend going on the weekend because it gets incredibly crowded, and you’ll spend a lot of time waiting in lift lines. The snow is decent considering most of it is man-made, but by the end of the day, the good top coat is skied off, leaving mostly granular snow and ice. If you’re an experienced skier, you might find the terrain a bit limited and get bored after a day or two. On the bright side, the terrain parks are awesome! Overall, it’s a great spot for a day trip

Included with our Epic Pass, and being close to home, we figured we’d be skiing here all the time! We figured wrong. We tried twice and left early both times. Sunapee Mtn has potential to be a great mountain, but they’re failing in so many ways, and I don’t think they care. There are enough bodies buying tickets and filling the slopes and lift lines, that they must feel they don’t (financially) need to care and it shows. I heard they have trouble finding workers. That’s only a small part of the problem.

Problems: over crowding. Skiing is dangerous here due to too many varied ability skiers skiing at high (and low) speeds packed in too tightly and not respecting skier rules. The lift lines are horrendous too.

Workers have terrible attitudes here!!!! They are rude when you ask simple questions with answers that are both mean and condescending.

My least favorite part of the mountain is their grooming. They are terrible groomers! Just awful! They leave huge clumps and dangerous ruts. They have constant boiler plate on some areas that could be so improved. The inconsistency is dangerous. They might also groom one tiny strip of a slope and leave the rest natural, but with heavy crud or frozen solid crud. Like they just can’t be bothered to try and make a better ski experience for people.

My hubs is an intermediate. The beginner terrain has usually only one slope open, which he could ski, but it too was crowded and a long walk away from the rest of the area. The small trail between the beginner area and the lodge is hardly ever open, so you end up having to make that long walk in both directions.

I’m a lifelong skier and can ski anything. Apart from the beautiful view you see from the top of the mountain, I’ve seen no other redeeming qualities to this area.

Epic Passes are a great deal financially, but seem to be ruining so many ski areas. We’re not buying them next year. Hopefully Vail will have a wake up call one day and figure things out.

Just returned back home from a trip to the USA. Spent a month in New England and skied all the mountains in the region. Taking nothing away from them all the standout was Mount Sunapee. It was the warmest,friendliest and most welcoming of all. Would like to congratulate and thank guest services and everyone for affording us a fantastic time everytime we visited. Ski resort in Newbury near Highway 103 and Lake Sunapee. Lots of parking spaces - just needed to walk from parking lots to the ski area, not fun with boots, and skis. The rental facility is not nearby ski lift - needed a bit more of walking. There is a bunny lift for beginners. The blue slopes are kind of icy, however it is long and wide. Friendly staffs.

I recently had my first skiing experience at Sunapee, and it was absolutely amazing! A huge thank you to my instructor, Layla, who made it such a memorable experience. She was incredibly patient, thorough in her explanations, and genuinely committed to helping me achieve my goals. Her guidance and encouragement made all the difference, and I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. If you’re learning to ski, I highly recommend Layla, she’s fantastic!

Been to Mt Sunapee a couple times this 23/24 season. The south peak area is pretty decent for beginners. While had really good time there, some areas on the north peak side could become super icy and form moguls all over that are nightmare for snowboarders. The base lodge is spacious and cozy, it’s one of the nice lodges that have elevators that take you to the lower-level bathrooms.

Skied the mountain several times this season and was impressed every time. Even during some of the early season rains (2023/24) staff kept the mountain in overall good shape and skiing was enjoyable. Mid-week skier and never had lift line issues — even during vacation weeks. Weekend MAY be a different issue. YMMV

Bag cubbies available in the basement area of the Main Sunapee Lodge. Restrooms are located in the basement as well. Cafeteria style food and a small “pro shop” as well as ticket sales.

Similar in the smaller Spruce Lodge adjacent to rentals. Free shuttle across the parking lot to save the hassle of walking to the Green terrain and lessons meeting point.

Love Sunapee, beautiful condition this weekend, but it sure's getting too crowded. My friends said they got to the resort at 8:30-8:40 and only made it to Lot #3, on Saturday and Sunday. After u have to park across the street at the beach and it's a long wait for the shuttle. The lift lines are often 20-30 minutes. This weekend they had the Asian Noodle Bowl both days, it was yummy. I got pork and sweet chili sauce. I wish they make people register if coming, and just cut it off at some point. Also Stovepipe trail was very icy and had people falling. It wasn't safe to keep that open. On the weekends everyone here is from the Boston Area, mostly on a day trip. I'm guessing the locals must avoid all the weekend crowds.
