Just came back from a trip with Mayflower to Panama City, Panama. Never once saw a representative from Mayflower. The 1st hotel was put in charge of helping us but their info was scarce. The tour guide most of the time did his best but he also told us things that were not true. Never got to shop at the nicer shops he said we were going and a lot more walking then he said there would be! 2nd hotel was an all inclusive resort. We were basically dumped off and, although we paid for the all inclusive, we had to buy our own lunch and drinks until the hotel was allowed to give us our wristbands at 3:00. We arrived at noon!! Again, no agent from Mayflower, just hotel staff. No reimbursement offered or explanation. Very disappointed in this trip and Mayflower. I have been on other trips with them but not any more!

If I could give a zero rating I would.
STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!
I was recently involved in a transaction with a ski club and this Tour Co. I signed a document to room with a potential "assistant trip leader" and was billed $5,934.00. (I have all documents and emails supporting this chain of events). Several days later I received an invoice from Mayflower for $12,119.00 prior to payments and a discount, and was told by this ski club, "Just ignore this. We need to sell a couple more rooms before April, 2025." They were working with Mayflower Cruise to hold /save a room for this assistant trip leader so they changed my status to a solo for the room and told me "we are just trying to help (name withheld). We just need to sell two more cabins." There was no guarantee that would happen and, of course, I was not comfortable with this new and not agreed upon arrangement, potentially costing me thousands of dollars more. At that point our contract was null and void as we did not have a meeting of the minds (obviously) and I certainly was not going to be committed to this new charge if the ski club failed to fill its quota. The assistant trip leader was also "counsel" for this ski club." A clear conflict of interest, she should have known better. She chose her own personal gain over what was the right and legally correct thing to do. As an attorney she should know there was no legally binding contract at this point and my $400 deposit should have been returned in full. Legality aside, it was the right thing to do. The Mayflower Cruises and Tour company refused, and the atty for the ski club, well...you can guess her position.
A company's integrity is vital to its success. This company displayed none ,and was quite rude on the phone when we spoke, never letting me finish a sentence, etc. One of the members of the ski club works with this company, so again, there was a huge conflict of interest. She agreed to refund the money but Mayflower refused.
Rigging tours to help trip leaders travel for free? I obviously cancelled immediately as I did not wish to be on the hook for double the cost just in case the ski club did not fill their quota. That was NOT what was either agreed upon, nor signed for, when I signed up for a river cruise.
DO NOT WORK WITH THIS CRUISE LINE. Support those with integrity and who treat their customers right, not those who are in cahoots with ski clubs, or other agencies around the country to benefit both themselves and their partners. Such a disgrace to the industry of amazing partners out there!! Choose them!

I recently took a river cruise on the Danube with Mayflower . I didn't know what to expect as this was my first time traveling internationally and on a river cruise. I can say from my experience that I would do it again! I'm excited to book another river cruise as they offer a multitude of destinations to visit. The planned touring was beautifully put together and if I could live on the ship I would! The food was amazing, staff was super friendly. 10/10

Had a marvelous time on the Emerald Star Danube Explorer River Cruise. The staff was terrific! The food was great! The included walking tours were also very good. Really enjoyed it and ready to sail again with Mayflower/Emerald!

I had a Nova Scotia trip booked for this last september. There was a hurricane coming up the coast, so I knew the trip could get cancelled. Unfortunately, Mayflower cancelled the trip at the very last moment. They notified me when I was at the second airport to connect to final flight on my way to Halifax. I spent all day trying to get my luggage stopped and get back home. The worst part is that Mayflower knew my flight info and still waited. They did nothing extra to compensate me. They only did what they were legally required to do. Dont trust Mayflower to take care of you.

I’ve done 2 trips with Mayflower. One an Adirondacks Fall 2021 and Florida Beach Party February 2023.
The Florida beach party was fantastic. Luxury hotels, 9 days right on the beach in St. Pete Beach, interesting and well planned excursions every other day. Knowledgeable and congenial tour director. Fantastic bus and bus driver. The other people on the tour really made it unforgettable. The only drawback was 90 percent of the tours included meals pushed ice tea as the beverage, not a northerners idea of a thirst quencher.
The Adirondack tour was disappointing, half the prearranged meals cancelled at the last minute, leaving the tour guide scrambling. Twice we had a few hours to shop, only problem was that the stores were closed until 11 am. I guess they reversed the normal Adirondack route and didn’t take into consideration store hours. So we were left twiddling our thumbs. The tour guide needed a few more classes in activities to do with people on a bus. Her handing out crossword puzzles and word searches was below my expectations .
To improve the experience on any tour I believe the tour guide would be more efficient if they programmed their phone with all the phone numbers of the group. This way they could easily contact the people on the tour and keep them informed in changes of plan.
