Friendly the moment you walk in the door. We were passing through on a road trip one Sunday. The food was delicious and comforting. We had the fried and baked chicken. The fried chicken was crunchy and delectable. The baked chicken was fall off the bone good and flavorful. My kids adored the Mac n cheese and black eyed peas. The greens with regular cornbread and Mexican cornbread were so good together. We topped it all off with pecan cream pie, it was aaaamazing. Reminded me of butter pecan blue bell ice cream flavor. Can’t wait to go by when we are passing through on next trip through AL!

Welcomed at the door with a smile. Thought it was a long shot they would be able to accommodate my party of 7 including 5 children. I was surprised they were able to quickly seat us and explain the menu vs the hot bar. We had an array of food from friend chicken, ribs,burger, BLT, Mac and cheese, corn on the cob, cake and banana pudding just to name a few…all were amazing! Great service. Would highly recommend. Plan to stop again on our next time in the area.

My husband and I stopped in on our way home to Mississippi and the food was delicious! The owners were very kind and attentive. Would highly recommend if looking for GOOD HOME COOKED MEAL! REAL SOUL FOOD. Mashed potatoes and beef tips! Pork chops and rice and gravy! Mac and cheese and the BEST black eyed peas and cornbread- make you wanna slap ya Mama! 🤣

Good soul food at Mary-Ruth's. Had the fried pork chop, collards & turnips (be sure to add the homemade pepper sauce) and sweet potatos also a cornbread muffin. The sweet tea was good also. We were so hungry I forgot to take a pictures of the plate. The owner and team are so nice. I loved when I walked in, it was so lively with other diners. It felt just like being at home with the extended family. The resraurant is off the beaten path and a bit in the cut, but don't let that deter you. Don't forget to ring the bell when you leave. We recommend and will be back if passing through the area.

An absolutely great, family own BBQ place. I had pulled pork and ribs with dirty rice and baked beans. One of the best BBQ meals I have ever had. Great ice tea as well.

Found this little gem as we ventured off the interstate toward Florida. Excellent reviews convinced us to make the stop. We were welcomed with an immediate warm greeting and we were well taken care of the entire time we were there! Food was great. We are the gumbo and friend chicken as well as loaded mashed potatoes (sooo good!), friend green tomatoes, green beans and dirty rice. We also ordered a Philly cheesesteak and kids’ chicken tenders which looked and tasted homemade! Great find!
