My wife and I were able to have our wedding here this year in August. By the time everything was said and done I can not find one thing I would have changed. The owner and his wife along with all the staff give 100% to making sure that every little detail is perfect. We were able to shoot some clays before hand and had an absolute blast. The food was absolutely amazing and not a single guest had one complaint with any aspect of the facility. The pricing for everything is worth every penny and we are looking for any reason to come back and visit when we can. 100% recommend to anyone for any occasion. Thank you Long Meadow for the amazing experience we couldn't be happier!

A few fellow prairie dog hunters and I just finished our second trip w/ Tye and the Long Meadow team in Wiggins. I had first gone there last July for a hunt and immediately booked a second (June 2024) and a third (July 2024) trip before we left the grounds. I have had the pleasure of hunting (and fishing) with a number of outfitters across the country and can unequivocally say, it has truly been, and continues to be, a great experience all around w/ Long Meadow.

I think it's important to appreciate that communication is key in booking any type of hunting trip with an outfitter. From the very beginning of our first hunt and as has extended through earlier this past month with our second hunt, Tye and the team have been very communicative and helpful. We are all out of town hunters so it's always been super helpful when Tye responds very quickly whether by phone call or text (or often both) with details to help make the trip that much more enjoyable. I have always found that there's no such thing as over-communication when organizing a hunt and Tye was great in all respects.

The facilities and service are fantastic! It is a wonderfully run family operation where we also got to interact with Heath & Jen as well. There's excellent support from the guides in helping make everything that much more enjoyable. While we have not yet had the chance to participate in a bird hunt or with the sporting clays course on property, we hope to expand that in future visits!

I would highly recommend Long Meadow Game Resort when considering a great hunt and experience in Northeastern Colorado!

This review is for the prairie dog hunt and has nothing to do with the facility or hosting for events.

Myself and 3 others booked a prairie dog hunt a few months in advance. I did not make the booking so i cannot speak to that process. What i can speak to is the lack of communication about ammo that is allowed for the prairie dog hunt. I believe his name is "Ty" said both on the phone and in person that the website indicates that "no FMJ is allowed". When we arrived the day of our hunt i proved to him that that statement does not exist anywhere on the website. The reason why it caused our group a problem is we didn't learn this until about 3 days prior to the hunt and finding 1400+ rounds of acceptable ammo caused us to have to buy higher priced stuff. We had already purchased thousands of rounds of FMJ because it says nothing about ammo restrictions on the site. In his defense Ty did apologize and said he would address that, we will see if its changed.

The next issue was the pricing. Our group paid for the breakfast and lunch option and then we got an upgraded shooting trailer. First, depending on where you live you have to drive a decent distance out to the event center for a microwaved burrito and some coffee. We then learn after the unimpressive meal that we still need to drive an additional hour to the actual hunting area. Then even from there its another 35mins on a rzr to the spot. No where on the website or from any communication were we aware of how much time would be wasted on driving all over. If we had known all of this we probably would have looked elsewhere.

My next issue is what i would call "financial dishonesty" the advertised price is 350 for the hunt and the food option. When he ran my card, he added, without notify us first, an additional 50 dollars per hunter for "gratuity". If you have ever been on a guided hunt or been through an outfitter gratuity is a part of it, but not the way he did it. It was dishonest and just ran on our credit cards before we ever hunted. Also the guy that ran the cards "Ty", didn't even go on the hunt. So I'm not even sure that "tip" even went to the actual guide that was with us. Plus a tip is given if the services are good. Not just an automatic charge that isn't advertised or spoken about at all.

After our additional hour drive, we get to the farm where we hunt. The "shooter trailer" is an absolute rust bucket of a piece of junk and was wildly unstable. If anyone moved while you were behind your gun you had to wait for the thing to settle and stop moving.

The RZR used to tow it out there looks like it has been put through hell. On the 35min drive even further out the RZR tire fell off the wheel and we waited about an additional hour to help the guide try and fix it. He eventually gave up, as the tire was toast and went and got his personal truck. The guide was a nice guy and from the sounds of it does not have much to do with the money or planning side he just guides the hunt, he was a cool dude.

All in all it cost each of us 400 bucks for a crappy warmed over burrito, a meat sandwich with chips and water for lunch, and some not so great "equipment". We did shoot some dogs and had fun, but there is no way it is worth what they charge.

We had 4 hunters and one guy came along to watch, which they also charge for.

So they made 1650.00 off us for what i would call a pretty lackluster experience.

Two stars because the actual guide that went with us was a cool guy.

Zero stars for price and lack of transparency. This is all fixable though, I don't think they are intentionally doing any of this. It just isn't worth what you pay, and they need to be upfront about the information and details, and fix their website about ammo requirements.

We had our wedding reception here and it was just amazing. Heath and his team worked so hard to turn our visions into a reality and things turned out better than we ever imagined! The space was great for our large party (about 250 guests, including dozens of kiddos) and so accommodating. The food was excellent, along with the bar service. Heath and his team took so much stress away in gearing up for our wedding reception - we could truly focus on our guests and having a good time!
