Best experience ever with a travel agent. Dana Innocenti really cares about you and wants you to have the trip of a lifetime. She was great helping us figure out where we should go and advised us where we should stay. Dana went the extra mile when it came to getting us incredible upgrades and helping us celebrate a birthday. I really can't say enough about Dana and how she cares from the beginning until the end. I can't imagine ever using anyone else and will recommend her to everyone I know.

They didn't inform us that our trip had been cancelled until the night before after paying for the whole trip. Told them we wanted low to medium priced lodging..the one place we stayed was more then my mortgage a NIGHT!!!

Lake Zurich travel has friendly employees, but the follow through with their commitments is less than adequate and there is at least one employee who does not return phone calls or answer emails except on her own schedule. So for us the experience was not good.

We solicited Lake Zurich Travel because we wanted to deal with someone local. In the past all of our cruises have been booked through a large travel agent in Seattle that has Virtuoso and Conde Nast Traveler affiliations. We always book the best suite accommodation or close to it depending on what is available. We sought a change because dealing with a firm in Seattle while we are in Chicago makes for timing issues on occasions. We have somewhat extensive cruise experience with 17 cruises since 2002 and some 191 days at sea.

When we contacted Lake Zurich travel, we asked about their policy regarding shipboard credits before we booked our recent cruise on the NCL Epic - a cruise for 5 in one of the Haven family suites. I was led to believe that they provided a ship credit to their customers as a gift of appreciation, the same as our Seattle based TA provided us consistently for all of our past cruises.

We just completed our Western Mediterranean cruise and nothing was provided by Lake Zurich travel. The credit we did receive was the one provided by NCL at the time of booking which everyone receives if they booked at that time. That was a disappointment. Don't be fooled. There are no real discounts in the cruise industry if you are buying the best accommodations on the ship. For me, I feel that I gave them a "shot" at capturing our business for the future. No ship credit, phone calls as well as email not returned in a reasonable time has caused us to return to our former TA.

The services for LZ travel may be fine for people who do not have the resources or experience at doing their own travel planning. All LZ travel did for us was to contact NCL and book the cruise in the suite number that I told them to book and collect the NCL commission. Yes, we feel there were misrepresentations made, thus our disappointment. Do not use LZ travel unless you are a "rookie" at cruising and even with that - deal with the cruise line direct rather than a no-value added company like Lake Zurich Travel.
