We had Tyler as our guide and the whole trip was amazing! Tyler picked up my family and I on time at our hotel and guided us to The Wave. What we really enjoyed was how informative Tyler was and pointed out things we would have missed or not know if we went by ourselves. We also really appreciated the pictures and videos he took of us while hiking and the video he made was great! Also, for a family of 5 adults, the pricing of the tour was reasonable compared to other tours. Overall, we are so glad we booked with Lake Powell Scenic Tour and had Tyler as our guide! I would definitely book again!!

"Everybody feeling strong!?!?" "YES!"

In the excitement of being awarded a permit, I was also concerned about hiking the Wave (Coyote Buttes North) with my wife and 2 kids (8 and 12) in August, in the dead heat of summer.

Tyler put my mind at ease about everything. For one, I knew for sure we wouldn't get lost. I also knew I wasn't taking any stupid or unnecessary risks with my kids involved.

Tyler also brought extra ice water for us in case I ran out, and handled the off-road driving (We were coming from Kanab and met him at 4:30am at a parking lot off the highway). Just for those assurances, having a guide was 100% worth it.

Then there's the extra dynamic of Tyler's positive attitude, leadership, knowledge of the terrain, plants and animals, the "side quests," and of course, handling the photography for us with his understanding of the best angles and locations to make the absolute most of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

We encountered two people in physical distress on the hike (one turned around halfway), and many more just starting out at 10:00-11:00am, in over 100 degree weather.

I'm really grateful for Tyler helping to make this a lifetime peak experience for our family. With his great communications prior to the hike, we were confident and prepared, we had zero problems, and we have awesome photos to remember it all.

Lake Powell Scenic Tours is phenomenal! We were there at the end of April and did the Alstrom Point Sunset Tour and it was nothing short of amazing! We were initially hesitant to book the tour not knowing what to expect. The tour far exceeded our expectations! Tyler is extremely knowledgeable and provided an unforgettable experience that only a local tour guide can provide! He had a wealth of information about the area and there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. If you’re like me, you've sought the elusive permit for The Wave for years. Once finally secured, I knew my visit to The Wave was going to be a spectacular day. My decision to hire Tyler of Lake Powell Scenic Tours as our guide turned this into a trip of a lifetime for my husband and me. As a native to the area, Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge about the region, along with all of the certifications to let you know you’re in good hands. Leading up to our tour, Tyler patiently provided advice for the trip, plus recommendations for other lesser known destinations to extend our stay. For the actual tour, Tyler arrived right on time at our hotel, his truck full of extra water (including frozen ones for the hike!), snacks, hiking sticks, and more. Tyler is an excellent guide, was very engaging, and his knowledge of the geology, flora and fauna made our visit much more rewarding with his interesting commentary and obvious passion for the area. And the day didn’t end with the tour! Once back, Tyler also shared a personalized video from the day--an awesome reminder of our visit. I highly recommend Tyler!

Highlight of our trip!
The private sunset tour of Alstrom Point offered us such interestting history ad breathtaking views over the course of the tour. Tyler felt like an old friend our family hung out with. I'd recommend this tour above anything else..especially at sunset.

Tyler was an excellent guide. My friend and I are both females, she is 59 and I am 64. We are not experienced hikers but are in pretty good shape from regular exercise. We knew we could complete the hike distance but were anxious about the terrain and heat. Tyler's personality and humble confidence put us at ease immediately. He was knowledgeable about the region, the geology and seemed well trained in how to handle any unexpected emergencies. He got us on the trail early and we were the first to arrive at the Wave which gave us time to experience the area in solitude. He then took us to other sites in the permit area which we would have never found on our own. Oh, and he had the best snacks! We had an amazing day and are so glad we had such a great guide!

Tyler quite literally saved our lives. It was a challenging hike, and he had endless patience and supplies for us. It took us much longer than anticipated due to my disability, yet he never rushed us, kept us cool and organized, and created the most wonderful experience for every member of our group, which was quite varied.
