Maddy and her wranglers gave us such an incredible sunset ride through the park. The horses were friendly and well cared for. You could tell Maddy and her team take a lot of pride in ensuring their horses love their jobs. I rode Andres and my friend rode Levi! I felt very very safe the entire time, despite my general inexperience riding, and would absolutely come back. I truly felt like I was seeing the desert through a new lens. If you want a completely unique and one of a kind Joshua tree experience… there is no better way to do it than with Knob Hill.

Booked the short west loop trail for my sister and I in early December! We ended up being the only ones in our group and therefore having a private ride, which was great. (Although the max is 6 which would’ve been fine too) We had originally booked 8am but changed it later to 10am due to some checkout hassles at our hotel, and the staff was accommodating and flexible, which we really appreciated.

Our guide Shannon was great and really knowledgeable the local plant and wildlife. We both were relative beginners and she was great at explaining the basics for riding. The 2 hour trail is a great experience as it was longer than some other rides we’d done and we got to see a lot of the park. The weather in the morning was perfect and in the winter the sun is nice but not hot. Would definitely recommend!

What an incredible experience! Kara was such a welcoming and warm guide. She is a wealth of knowledge in caring for the horses, property, and the land. I took my mom and 2 friends on morning rinde and it was perfect. The weather was just starting to warm up by the time we finished and the experience of a quiet morning ride was awesome. I cannot wait to do this again!

This was an absolutely incredible trail ride by Kara. As many rides as I’ve done in my life this was one of the best. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about ALL things horse related but was kind, timely, informative and truly a wonderful person to spend a morning ride with. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE 5:30AM start time to beat the wicked heat that is Joshua Tree! Unforgettable ride, incredible beauty, the and the most knowledgeable guide/ woman who truly loves what she does and prides herself on full knowledge of horses. This is the guide and horses you NEEED!! Knob Hill Ranch should not be missed!

Booked the four hour Panorama Trail ride in early July. I was worried because of the heat we wouldn’t be able to go but departing the ranch at sunrise was an unforgettable experience! We saw a bobcat, a coyote, some baby quail and even a pink boa constrictor! Although we are experienced riders, we appreciated instruction provided by our seasoned guide, Kara. Having guided all over the world, she has some amazing stories - never a dull moment! We learned about desert flora, fauna, geology, local attractions and restaurants. This experience through the park was everything we could have asked for. We will cherish these wonderful photos forever. Many thanks, Knob Hill Ranch, we will be returning!

Had the best time at Knob Hill Ranch to celebrate my birthday!! I came here with a group of friends a few years ago and had a great time, so was super excited to book another ride. I grew up riding and really appreciate that they take my experience level into consideration. Super authentic experience and I will definitely be back 🙂

Such an amazing experience! Kara and Bianca were wonderful guides and made us feel extremely comfortable riding. They gave us a quick demonstration on how to properly ride and let us know what to do, and what not to do. Both are so experienced, and we could tell how much they love and care for the horses, which was very important to us. If anything, the horses wanted to ride longer!! The views were gorgeous going through to the Joshua Trees and canyon, and we thoroughly enjoyed talking with them , learning all about horses as we rode as well.I would go back in a heart beat and hope I get the chance again soon!

We did the 2 hour ride with Kara and it was excellent. She was a great guide and we really enjoyed it. The ranch is beautiful and you can tell that they really care about the horses and their customers. The ride does go through a portion of the National Park and the surroundings are beautiful. Highly recommend.
