Five stars all around for this gem of a hotel. From the moment you walk through the amazing entrance the service is exceptional. It's difficult to initially believe it used to be a hospital, but you will see hints of it throughout with imposing walls left intact and preserved ceiling trusses. The transformation is quite remarkable. Our twin room was spacious and the bathroom huge (walk in shower as well as a massive bath). We had the breakfast buffet included in our package and it did not disappoint (everything terrific but the honey in particular was amazing). We walked around the complex in the evening to see more and it was beautifully lit. The dome is the crowning glory and definitely worth a visit, even if you're not drinking at the bar. The gym is located in a different part of the complex and requires escort if you want to use it before 7.30 am. It's well equipped with the usual machines etc you'd expect at a hotel. It's a pricey stay but you won't be disappointed in the facilities, service or location.

Amazingly beautiful, service-oriented hotel on the river. I had the opportunity to stay for 2 nights on business. My arrival was delayed due to flight changes but was met warmly by the front staff who were waiting for my arrival - at midnight. Check-in was efficient, professional and attentive - the staff on duty provided a quick description of the lay of this large hotel ad guided me to the relevant elevators to my room. Accessing the room required passing through a couple of card-enabled access only entrances that provides good security for those who may need this feature. Assigned room was wonderful - it was large, modern, adorned with nice furnishings, a great bed and that was able to be sufficiently cooled to counter the 31 C temperature outside. There were ample outlets for charging peripherals and lighting controls were easy and convenient to use; wifi signal was also great. Bathroom was "large" by European standards - but water pressure was a little low and the sink a trifle small. Room came with a luxurious bathrobe (much appreciated) and slippers that don't require I work hard to slip-on. Ate breakfast at the Epona (with nice outside sitting in a courtyard) - staff were great as was the food offerings. I also partook in room service - again the staff was great, the food arrived promptly, The hotel is also adjacent to a number of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants for those who don't have the opportunity to stray far. I really liked this establishment and will revisit if afforded the opportunity.

Good location overlooking the river, very friendly and courteous staff, room with high ceiling, remote operated drapes and average space was quite inviting. Breakfast and dinner were of high quality; lamb shoulder for dinner was very delicious and big in portion. Many other restaurants in the old town within a short walk are alternates for dinner. Confluence of the two rivers flowing through the town and the confluence museum are accessible via a city bus or taxi. The majestic church on top of the hill is accessible via a funicular within walking distance of the hotel. Charming hotel in a great city.

We stayed at the Intercontinental for a few days. I can honestly say it was THE FINEST hotel we have stayed at during our 6week drive through Europe. We have stayed at all 5-star hotels on this trip and a LOT of them so this is a significant statement. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff, especially the concierge is off the charts. Just amazing!! we can’t thank them enough. Also the room was incredible and the location perfect. Honestly I can’t even imagine not staying there again if/when we return to Lyon. Simply amazing in every respect.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at InterContinental Lyon, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a warm and professional staff who made me feel right at home.

A special shoutout to the concierge, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The attention to details made all the difference. I was particularly impressed by how professionally they handled the delivery of my medications, which were scheduled to arrive during my stay. The staff ensured everything went smoothly, showing great care and attention to my needs.

The hotel's ambiance was inviting, and the amenities were top-notch. I truly appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the entire team. I highly recommend InterContinental.

Very good location on the Rhône river. Most sites and restaurants are a 20 minute walk or less. Room was spacious with excellent shower. I am sure we paid less than what is on the Trip Advisor listing. Breakfast is superb. The Dome bar is a treat. The service is impeccable and friendly.

One of my favorite hotels! Rooms are beautiful and spacious, service is amazing. Building is spectacular, it used to be a hospital, don’t forgot to visit Le Dome bar and gardens! The only thing - mattress was a bit too hard for me but my husband loved it..

Our first time visiting Lyon, the hotel located in a great spot, very convenient to a lot of sightseeing places. The room was very comfortable, regardless courtyard views or river views, both are spectacular. Staff were very friendly, the breakfast in the restaurant (Epona) was delicious, variety selection and the fruit was very fresh.

We had a great time here and will absolutely want to stay here again. Highly recommended.
