I had a really nice stay here. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I left an important document in my room and they quickly mailed it back to me internationally. Rooms are clean and comfy. I particularly enjoyed the hot tub.

Positive: The staff was polite even though they were having a bad night. Negative: Inaccurate web description of the room so didn't have a bed for my children until nearly 2 am after arriving at 10pm. But the "maybe we can find you the room you bought so don't touch anything or use the bathroom.

I liked the hotel. The lady at the front desk was very nice when I went to check in and when I went back a few hours later because I had locked myself out. 🤦🏾‍♀️😅

It is a nice walk downtown but away enough that I didn't have to deal with the noise or struggle with parking. The room was a little dated but clean and nice. I could hear the people upstairs since I was on the first floor but it wasn't overwhelmingly loud.

Breakfast is as others warn. Prepackaged muffins and bread, some fruit, coffee, and packets of oatmeal. Expect to eat out for breakfast, especially if you're trying to stay away from sugar. I liked it as a morning snack, though. There aren't places to sit in the lobby but there are tables scattered throughout the property, including in front of the lobby entrance, where one can eat.

Overall, it is a nice getaway and I would stay again. Thanks for having me, Hotel Buena Vista.

I always stay in Hotel Buena Vista when I visit SLO. It’s clean, staff are super nice and helpful, it has free (really good and local) coffee and tea in the reception all day.
Walking distance from downtown and great locations.

Room 201 was absolutely disgusting, it doesn’t look like the pictures at all. Woke up with little tiny bugs all over me that were all over the bed and in the room. There was mold all over the ceiling. Dark yellow stains all over our blankets and pillows. Dirt on the curtains, our bathroom door wouldn’t even lock. A motel 6 would’ve been better than staying in the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Worst place I’ve ever stayed at. Also they left the cart full of sheets, blankets, and towels outside under a tree. Definitely a 0/5 stars. If you’re looking to find a new species of bug then definitely stay here!

This was our second time staying here. Love the friendly staff, Anastasia's the best! We appreciated the room upgrade. The hot tub and pool are great. Love that they have a washer and dryer on the premises, $2 for wash, $1.50 for dryer. The rooms are nice and clean, bed is comfortable. I would bring your own pillow, unless you like sleeping with small hard pillows.
