This hotel provided a decent place to stay during a recent Model United Nations Conference. The rooms were recently renovated, making them much nicer than they were a few years ago. It's a standard hotel with anything a typical Holiday Inn would consist of. Rooms were nice and clean and the staff was mostly friendly. It's very basic, so if you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere. Directly outside of the hotel doesn't have the best security.|At the end of the day, the room served its purpose.

The stay here was excellent. Have no complaints other than current construction so if u don't want to be woken up at 7 am it may not be the place for u. Although it should be finished soon. Other than that I loved the room, clean,private, comfortable and a gorgeous view.

Enjoyed our stay at this location. It's very close to UF, which was very convenient for us. We ate at Piesano's, the restaurant attachment to this building and loved being able to walk right down to the restaurant and right back up to our room. The upgrades they've done to the rooms are excellent! It felt like a luxury stay.

Gym is accommodating and it is genuinely an easy convenient location.
I was able to attend all my meetings scheduled on time and enjoyed the restaurants and Publix in same parking lot.
I would definitely recommend this location for all incoming students!

Stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Gainesville-University Center. Nicely located adjacent to the University of Florida, and just under a mile to the football and basketball venues. The hotel is currently under a major interior renovations. Work is happening between 7 AM and 9 PM. We woke up to drilling at 7:10 AM. We had no Wi-Fi service on the renovated 6th floor (the hotel called us in advance to let us know how renovations would impact us). The new rooms look great. Tried Piesonos Pizza, just off the main lobby, for great pizza as part of a pre-game dinner. The front desk staff was mostly helpful. Would stay again.

I recently stayed 5 nights for a business trip. While I knew that the hotel was undergoing renovations and there would likely be construction noise, I was not aware that there would be no Wi-fi available for guests. The hotel's website quite plainly advertises Wi-fi as an amenity. This impacted my ability to work from the hotel, and was a large inconvenience.

I was only made aware that there was no wi-fi upon checking in, and the front desk clerk was not apologetic regarding the lack of wi-fi. At this point, IHG already had my non-refundable deposit. Upon checking out, I mentioned the Wi-fi when asked how my stay was, and the clerk said "Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't put a router on your floor."

The room was otherwise fine, with the exception of finding the toilet full (of TP?) upon arriving. I won't stay here again.

Disappointed

Let’s start with the positive. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, I was so disappointed because this property is always booked. I was happy to finally get to stay there. It’s in a great location especially for visiting UF. However, the property needs work. While the property is under renovations, the issues appear to be unrelated to the renovations. There are two elevators and the one I took smelled of urine. The floor I was on and the room smelled old and moldy. The AC was noisy. The bath tub looked broken and was not properly cleaned. It’s one of those old plastic tub that looked greasy even under the poor lighting in the bathroom. The sink counter also did not look like it was thoroughly cleaned. There were suspicious particles in the toilet when I arrived. The entire property except for the lobby felt grungy. This does not feel like the newly branded IHG.

I've been lucky to stay here a few times whilst visiting my son at UF. Rooms are big. Bathrooms need updating but there is construction going on. No interruptions because of the construction. Front staff always goes out of their way to make me feel welcome Love that Piesano's is attached to the hotel. Makes dinner easy! Thank you!
