2/15/25 My husband and I needed a room due to the impending snowstorm and we accidentally booked two rooms for the Holiday Inn. After the front desk agent offered a refund, the manager, Andrew, refused to issue a refund despite my providing proof of the duplicate reservation.

11/3/24 We were here for the weekend from the better state of Pennsylvania to see a show (Les Miserables) at the Bushnell Arts Center. We've been disappointed with our stays at various Holiday Inns recently. This location is the exception. Our room was clean and modern. The TV, while no Netflix, was up to date. The bed was comfortable and we had a perfect time. The general manager, Andrew, was a professional. He made sure the hotel was in tip top shape. He was even seen in the breakfast area making sure it was clean and stocked. The breakfast was great, by the way. You can really see the difference between a hotel where the manager is doing their job well, and one where they are hiding out in the back. It's easy to see that this Holiday Inn location has great leadership. We hope that other Holiday Inns get their acts together like this one has done.

Stayed at Rocky Hill location to check out apartments as I’m moving states. The room was very nicely kept with nice amenities. The bathroom had my favorite Dove products. Breakfast was also great, having variety of options. I suggest the veggie omelette! I was there for 2 nights and both nights were comfortable, I could also see my car from my room. Walking in, it smelled freshly clean. Would recommend and stay again!

Immediately at check in I was greeted by the Manager who was very welcoming. This hotel is nestled in a great location” walking distance to restaurants and fun activities”.

Rooms were of decent size and smelled very clean. The hotel is well kept and the staff were amazing.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We are IHG club members, and we stay often at IHG properties.

The good:

Clean rooms with large tv

Very comfy beds & pillows

The bad:

When we arrived at 6:30pm, there were 4 people hanging out by the front door smoking pot. The smell was horrific. It also made entering uncomfortable.

Every time we went outside someone was smoking pot, side doors, front door, etc…. The smell was in the stairways and hallways.

The sign said “this door to remained locked 24 hours for guest safety. The door didn’t even close - ANYONE can access this hotel BY THE UNSECURED SIDE DOOR.

The “new colors” of green and blue look cheap and unappealing.

Breakfast foods were not replenished and tables were dirty. Sitting area is extremely cramped. After trying breakfast on day 1, we didn’t return.

This was the worst IHG property we have ever stayed at. It felt cheap and over priced and not safe.

They only stocked our room with decaf coffee - no creamer/sweetener packs and no stir sticks.

If we are in the Hartford area again, we will not stay here. We have always enjoyed IHG brand and appreciated the hotel consistency. This was so disappointing.

We were in town doing some electrical Work for a new client. We booked this hotel for the breakfast because we needed to be out early and did not want to stop and grab anything. Two days in a row they did not have any hot breakfast! Also the key cards stop working for the side doors. It’s freezing out side and when you try to use your key the key card reader doesn’t work. So I had to walk all the way around to the front door in the blistering cold!

The hotel was clean and well located, but comes with some down-sides:

1) When I checked in they charged me a $100 security deposit (?)
2) Heater fan didn't work in the room - - it made a loud clattering noise that prevented sleep. Hotel staff tried to adjust it but their adjustments only worked temporarily.
3) Breakfast offerings included only skim milk - - no low-fat or whole milk.

I booked a stay on
January 24,2025... it cost 123 for 1 night... If you pay using a debit or credit card, the deposit is 100 dollars. If you use cash, the deposit is 200 dollars ... There is no smoking policy. If you decide you want to smoke anyway, you will be charged 250 dollars.... i wash told by ms.shandra that the washer machine is 3 dollars....I found out the washer and dryer are 4 dollars each, and the small boxes of tide and softener are 2 dollars each....
the front desk representative lady, ms.shandra, seemed nice.. i asked for my receipt, which she refused to give me... She gave me the wrong key card the first time, and when I informed her about it, she then said, "Do not mix your key card with credit cards because it will be deactivated...... which is NOT TRUE....because I rubbed my key card against my credit card, and I was still able to get in my room.... so she gave me the correct key card the second time time around.... you get free breakfast, which includes pancake maker and toaster.... eggs, cereal,sausage,juice machine with orange, cranberry, and other flavors sausage patties,bacon,biscuit with gravy, banana, and apples...Yogurt,milk, oatmeal, tea , coffee, hot chocolate, omelets, I wish they had french toast and beef bacon.....I love the fact my room is super clean. There is a coffee maker, mini fridge, hair dryer and microwave inside my room... .no bed bugs, thank you, jesus....... Jesus..... ..shampoo ,conditioner and body wash is inside the bathroom... lotion and hand soap is where the sink is at.....The thing I do not like about my room is the fact that when I came in the temperature was on 68 degrees and when I went to adjust the temperature to 80 degrees it still feels cold in my room... and i am upset about it because... it's way too cold outside for this.....I do feel safe in this location. Tho.... I got better heat when I booked at a motel that was not nearly as nice as this hotel ... when you walk through the entrance, there is a place where they call the business center where you can print and make copies for free... that's cool 😎....... They have a pool.. i dont care for......they have a small exercise room..nice... they have an ice machine.... ms.jadeen seemed nice.... I spoke with micheal over the phone about the TV he helped me navigate through...The TV is not a smart TV.....I am upset about that cause I wanted to connect my phone to it and listen to music.. I like this hotel cause it does not seem ghetto here. It's nice..... so today, January 25,2025, I went to get breakfast around 940ish, and when I came back to my room around 10 am, I could not get inside...so I booked another stay..with Ms Jadeen..... I was then able to get inside my room... so i was told by ms.jadeen that in order to start receiving points, you have to book any 10 days.. which is a LIE...... why are these front desk staff workers inside these hotels so dishonest If you know good and well your staff are dishonest liars why don't you fire them and hire honest workers?.. I will not keep someone apart of my team if I know they are dishonest to my customers cause that means they will be dishonest to you as well...Andrew the Manger is 😎 tho and I like Michael with his tall handsome self.....Lol!!! If he is married, I take that back, tho. I don't want no problems with no man's wife...... I respect marriage too much...... I do not like the fact that my room was cold, tho........it's way too cold outside for that BS...... so I do not think I am ever gonna book a stay with them ever again......When it's freezing cold outside the room you pay over 100 dollars for, for 1 night is supposed to hot not cold... I stayed at a much worse hotel and got wayy better heat....how is that? How could that be? Do a better Job to whomever is in charge of this hotel and hire some honest workers.....cause those two females are not honest at all..... Do Better CEO and above..cause I am not satisfied 😒 with my stay here....... and I found a piece of hair in my eggs too......and it was not mines cause I wear a hat....
