This trip was a true retreat for both body and soul! The hot springs provided incredible relaxation, and the warm, beneficial water helped restore energy after busy workdays. The atmosphere here is very cozy, the staff is friendly, and the hotel offers comfort and tranquility.

I especially want to highlight the nature – fresh air, beautiful landscapes, and a special sense of harmony with the surrounding world. This place is perfect for recharging, regaining energy, and simply enjoying the moment. I was very satisfied with my vacation and would definitely love to come back here again!

We had a nice stay at David Walley’s Resort, especially enjoying the hot springs, which were relaxing and well-maintained. The resort has a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, making it a great getaway. However, the heat in our room wasn’t working when we arrived, and we had maintenance in our room for a few hours trying to fix it. It was an inconvenience, but they did get it working eventually. Other than that, the stay was enjoyable, and we’d consider coming back!

Wow. I give 5 stars for location because this place is off the beaten path and located beautifully in the Sierra Nevada foothills with a breathtaking view of the valley. Some people like conveniently located resorts that are right in the heart of everything. I prefer to actually get away when I want to 'get away'. Aside from the 2 lane highway that runs aside this resort you can't see much else other than a couple farm houses..
The views of the night sky are unparalleled thanks to an light pollution ordinance that's is in place. This means that upward facing lights are prohibited which means you get to experience a nighttime view of the sky that is 2nd to none. There is definitely room for improvement around the property. But the friendly staff and relaxing natural hot spring spa tubs more than make up for any shortcomings I have seen. This place is just too cool and is entwined with history... I mean, Mark Twain was a guest that frequented this place and even wrote about it.. this is definitely an experience that everyone should enjoy if possible.

Im a local 1st upon check in you get pushed into timeshare thing witch is a turn-off. I paid ful price for 3 night stay. I don't want to ne sold timeshare. 2nd despite paying in full in advance I was charged again next morning an incidentle deposit for full amount of $561 this was on top of the deposit of $115. Soon as I saw transaction I went to front office the lady at counter explained to me that the corporate office charged by mistake, witch things happen I get that. But this was my anniversary weekend and this cleared out my account leaving me with nothing to enjoy my staycation anniversary. Spoke with manager and we setup a meeting to try and fix this. She reversed the charges but it still takes 3-5 business days for bank to release hold. Witch still left me with zero money for my staycation. The manager was very Apologetic. She gave me a $200 credit for the Restaurant witch the food and service were excellent, so we can have nice meal for anniversary as well as comp hotsprings. This helped us cover one of our days. I had to get an advance on paycheck to cover everything else. When you paying advance budget for trip this shouldn't happen. 3rd room was very hot no a/c was told nothing can do. Lucky it was cold outside so keep windows open but being on 1st floor everyone can see your business. 4th all though villa was nice and big was bit outdated all the future old and beatup bathroom needs serious upgrade very dark jet tub barely worked toilet ran for few min after use. Overall this was just a bad stay. I did finally get my money back on day of checkout. The manager did a good job in trying to make things right and I thank her for thar but again it pretty much secured me to never return again. It's no fault of the manager she did a good job.

The staff at check in and the bar were very nice. We enjoyed the bartender Chris. He was fun and the food and drinks were good. The C building entry was really dirty and the carpet is horribly filthy throughout the common areas. The room was extremely old and very run down. There was a constant buzzing sound in the room (3315). The carpet was filthy as was the bathroom. The faucet dripped, the toilet kept running, the shower leaked water everywhere and it was simply not clean. There was hair and little toilet paper bits on the bathroom floor that did not belong to us and a smelly pile of garbage and dirty laundry sat in the hallway across from our room from morning to night. The bed was lumpy and the hot springs pools and pool area were really dirty. We accepted the timeshare sales pitch offer, but honestly, when we went up there after two uncomfortable nights, were were pretty turned off and declined the product. We told them about the room conditions and they responded that they were eventually going to invest money in the facility and upgraded it. For $240 a night, we were very let down. The problems (we were told) were due to a massive snow storm 3 years ago. We were on the 3rd floor, so not sure why that would matter. Dirty is still dirty. We will not be back.

Bre and Rob took care of us when we checked in. We were upgraded to our own special cabin with three bedroom, full kitchen, living room, two bathrooms and pretty much your own space and privacy. Bre went above and beyond showing me where everything was, I'm actually suprised she isn't a manager. Bre took time to listen to the concerns and made sure we got a call back the next morning and literally is an all star. Holiday inn isn't holiday inn with Bre to our family from now on. The cabin is amazing and extremely clean, it has a full on washer and dryer built in and all cooking utensils. It's a big resort and has had new management since and honestly it all for it. The marketplace and jacuzzi were extremely clean and there's plenty of parking and very very quiet. Only con is that it's a resort away from a resort in Lake Tahoe itself. You have to drive through a treacherous snake-like road for 10 miles before finding the resort. But hey, it's the best bang for the buck and honestly I didn't want to leave a review because of how great it was and didn't want prices to go up. I would have to minus one star though because my Priceline resort fee was suppose to be $38, but I was charged $79.10 at the counter.

After reading a few negative reviews, all I can say is that some rooms might be better than others - either that or some reviewers are super picky! Our room was very nice, seemed clean and well appointed (full kitchen). The bed was nice, clean, comfy. Grounds were well maintained with the exception of an overflowing waste bin at the head of the walking trail into town. Staff are all very friendly, from front desk to housekeeping to spa check-in. Met several timeshare owners that were all very happy with their decision to join. We were never approached about a timeshare like some others have reported.

We will definitely be back, it was very quiet and relaxing!

I’ve always wanted to stay at Wallys
I was very excited.
Our rooms hot tub didn’t work and was clearly outdated , our kings suite was right next to a children playground with charcoal barbecue pit that left our room smelling of smoke, the lady at the market was mean as hell no smile nothing, we had dinner at Wally’s saloon when we first arrived, the host there was amazing! She still holds the essence of what it once was. Our back window was shattered do the wind storm, so we were a bit irritated,we won’t be returning anytime soon.
