Really enjoyed the organized and relaxing float. Everyone was nice, tubes were clean and river was flowing just enough to keep you moving. I recommend bringing a stick to help navigate and keep the group together.

The guides were funny. They were well organized and knowledgeable. We had to take about an hour drive to the best part of the river where we even had the opportunity to do a clift dive. This was a fun activity that was well spent time and money for the day.

Went down the Nolichucky river with raft guide Nate with my spouse, 13 yo, and 9 yo. The trip was amazing. The ride over was very entertaining with raft guide Sammy as MC. Nate was VERY knowledgeable on the river and history of the area. We felt we were in good hands. The lunch they provided was homemade and delicious. Perfect picnic on the shore. Kurt, driver and raft guide, made sure we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed. We would absolutely use High Mountain Expeditions again for our summer adventures.

We have gone down the Watauga and now the Nolichucky with High Mountain Expeditions. There is a fantastic and well planned adventure down the Watauga that we highly recommend for families.
The Nolichucky was exhilarating! Patrick, Jimmy, Kurt and others were great. One guy (forgot his name) took great care of my friends the Stones.

Highly recommend! Last week I took my 14 year old daughter whitewater rafting at the Banner Elk location and I must say it did not disappoint! At this age it’s hard to find things that catch their interest. We both absolutely LOVED the whole experience. We were greeted with a smile by Megan as soon as we walked in the door. We were fitted for our PFD’s by James, who was super friendly. On the bus we were entertained by Dylan’s jokes, James’s dancing, and Megan’s mad bus driving skills… and awesome playlist. Elizabeth was our river guide. She was amazing. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and kept us engaged in great conversation. Other than the rapids, she made several stops for swimming and to play games on the rafts. It was the most enjoyable day and we can’t wait to try their other adventures!

Had a blast with the full day Nolichucky River rafting trip today! LIZZY was the BEST guide for us. Gave us a beautifully serene day as well as several spurts of true adventure throughout the river. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the river and maneuvering…had us working smarter versus harder. Excellent experience!

Beautiful locale and good service. You pay, you get a tube and a ride back to the launching area once you complete your adventure. My family (two preschoolers) did the two hour trip which is about as long as they could stand. They were able to get out and play in the shallow water.
It would be lovely to have more information before hand. Like suggestions to wear water shoes, to bring a waterproof bag for your phone and snacks to bring in a cooler. Would recommend to vacationers with a morning or afternoon to kill.
