A Blast from the Past: Guilford Welcome Center Even Has a Working Pay Phone!

The Guilford Welcome Center on I-91 North in Vermont combines modern amenities with nostalgic charm. The building is open daily from 7a-7p. Set in a beautiful post-and-beam barn, this stop offers clean restrooms, travel info, vending machines, and local art and business displays.

The grounds feature a picnic area, playground, dog walking area, walking paths—and yes, a fully operational pay phone inside! Plenty of parking for both passenger and larger vehicles. Friendly staff ensure a warm Vermont welcome, making this an unexpectedly delightful pit stop.

The nicest welcome center I've ever stepped into. The center opened in 1999 and is opens daily from 7am to 7pm; there were employees there to assist with any questions. The structure is beautiful and looked like a barn; it was nicely decorated and showcased Vermont as a whole. The restrooms were large and clean; they had changing tables which was a plus. They had a large patio area with many seats. There was even a playground. Parking was plentiful.

We went in September around 6:30 pm and outside near the playground, there were a ton of mosquitos. We had to run out of there lol. Overall, it's a great spot to stop and stretch your legs if you're in the area.

Beautiful Vermont visitor center located along I91 offering plenty of parking spaces for both passenger vehicles and large semis, RVs, and buses. This location is an excellent place to take a few minutes to stretch your legs, use very clean restrooms, collect some literature about Vermont and take a short stroll around their beautiful facility. The actual welcome center is only open from 7 in the morning to 7 at night. If you have any questions or need assistance the center is staff by very friendly and helpful guides.

Very beautiful rest stop with its shadow box advertisement boxes, farm life rustic decor, baked goods from the locals and clean facilities this is more than a rest stop. This is a great walk around stop too. Offers a playground, rustic farm equipment in the field to look at and tons of vending machines!

Ample parking. Restroom facilities are usually fairly clean, just smelly. Lots of vending machine options. On weekends there is usually fresh baked snacks outside

Loved this cute spot at the entryway to Vermont. You can stop here to get an idea about places to see and things to do in Vermont. This place is very well decorated, nature oriented, and fully carries the vibe of Vermont as a state. Feel free to collect the leaflets of different visiting spots around Vermont. Btw fall is the best time to visit Vermont to enjoy fall color in nature.
