Grace Note Farm was everything the site described: rustic, comfortable, relaxing and homelike. Virginia’s breakfasts are not to be missed and are truly wonderful. If you wish to enjoy lunch and dinner she can also provide and we highly recommend! The house is cozy and the deck overlooking the pond and stables is serene. Our dog loved her dog Abigail and other guests also has their dog as well. The walking trails are quiet and long and we loved our long weekend stay. Highly recommend for quiet, nap filled, trail walking weekend.

We made a reservation at Grace Note Farm two years ago, but we're unable to stay due to extreme heat and then COVID pandemic last year. Virginia was nice enough to let us stay this year since we were in the area. We checked in at 7:00 p.m. and Virginia came out to greet us along with her dog Abigail. We stayed in the suite room which was quaint. The farm goes back to 1730 and has period furnishings, horses and chickens. We woke up early to watch Virginia feed the animals and she told us about the origins of the farm as the Benjamin Smith homestead. Virginia prepared a delicious breakfast with homemade cranberry bread and omelets made from the farm eggs. We learned about Virginia's musical background and the special artists she hand picks for her music series. We had a nice visit, plus a history lesson. We would recommend Grace Note Farm to families as there are plenty of activities for children to enjoy. Thank you Virginia for your hospitality!

I had the pleasure of boarding my boy at Grace Note Farm with Virginia. My Cochise had a beautiful barn and a huge turn out. His care with Virginia was exceptional. Incredibly clean, welcoming and safe environment stable to board your horse. The trails were incredible and went on for miles and miles. Such a beautiful, welcoming farm. Unfortunately, I had to leave but to no fault of Virginia or her facility. I highly recommend this boarding barn to anyone looking for that perfect place.

I booked this place for my parents’ visit from Germany. I was looking for something quite and memorable and found more than I could have asked for. Grace Note Farm is a stunningly beautiful oasis of peaceful quiet and historic charm. The 287-year-old property does not only resemble an authentic image of its history, it also offers a warm and welcoming place to travelers from all over the world. My parents were absolutely enchanted by the charm of this well-kept and loved property. Virginia’s elegant taste in decór ad interior design makes her house a feast for the eyes. When she gave us a tour of the house it became even more apparent how much time, dedication, and love she invests to decorate and design everything authentically to create an atmosphere which lets you travel back in time while still offering modern amenities and comforts. Virginia was an excellent hostess to my parents. Every morning, when I picked them up after breakfast, they were gushing about the home-made foods and my father appreciated that he was offered coffee even well before breakfast time. One a more personal note, I experienced Virginia as a very warm and welcoming person, who deeply cares about her home and the guests she invites into it. She always made time to talk with me about her home and her life on the farm, even though it was apparent how much work se had ahead of her, she would always have a friendly word before she went about her day. I am truly pleased by what I found when I booked this place for my parents’ visit and can confidently recommend it to everyone who has an appreciation for a historic, welcoming, and peaceful accommodation!

My mother and I spent Memorial Day weekend at Grace Note Farm as my Mother's Day present to her. I actually found this B&B mostly by mistake after we were cancelled on by another hotel in Providence a few weeks before our trip. I called Virginia straightaway to explain my situation and ask if she had availability. She was kind and accommodating, and luckily, she had a suite for us. She sends a contract by mail, so you know what to expect. ||||We had to arrive late due to a change in our flight schedule, which she was completely understanding about. She met us at the door with her sweet, well-behaved dog, Abigail, introduced us to our room, served us iced tea (much-needed after a day of flying!), and answered a quick question I had about colonial decorating before she bade us goodnight.||||You will never go hungry with Virginia around. The next morning, she served a wonderful breakfast (bacon omelettes made with her chickens' eggs, plus homemade zucchini bread, fresh strawberries, and her own blueberry pie). The following morning, we had the best blueberry pancakes I've had, plus sausage and fruit. She has coffee prepared every morning and was happy to put on a pot of tea for us, as well.||||This is a great place to be if you're an early riser; you'll have plenty of time in the morning to enjoy the trails and see the animals around the farm (we made a point of visiting Eeyore, the donkey, every day. Loved the attention!), but you can still get an early start in Providence or Putnam after breakfast. We also enjoyed walking in the forest in the evening, even with the light rain. There is a historic graveyard you can take a look at, and we found it really interesting.||||On the day we left, Virginia took us around the farmhouse and explained the history and the renovations that she's done. You can really tell how important it is to her and how much work she puts into it. Running the B&B and the farm is definitely a labor of love for her, and we reaped the benefits for sure.||||I really enjoyed our time there, and I would be eager to stay again next time we're in Rhode Island. I would highly recommend this lodging to anyone in the area who is interested in nature and/or colonial history, and who would like to feel more like a guest in someone's home than an account number in a hotel.

Our family of three spent 3 nights at Virginia's farm. Virginia and her dog Abigail were amazing hosts. Our 11 year old son enjoyed staying in the original colonial home decorated with historic pieces such as bayonets since he has been learning about this period in history at school. Abigail accompanied us on the walks in the woods and stayed close as only a shepherd dog knows how to do. We also enjoyed spending time with the horses, the donkey and just looking at wildlife. Very relaxing

I went last weekend and I have to say that Virginia was the most amazing hostess!!! The food she made was incredibly delish. The 13miles if groomed trails were great for our horses. I can't wait to go back! The barns and paddocks were perfect.
