After my incident and the medivac was required, I dealt with José on a satellite phone call arranged by my climbing group Altezza. José was incredibly professional and understanding of my situation. I highly recommend Global Rescue. I was traveling in Japan with my mother when I got very sick. They were able to suggest English-speaking medical centers in my area. They were also able to review the diagnosis I received from local doctors and provide a second opinion. This was very valuable since I ended up needing to get re-evaluated because my condition was not improving after taking my initial medication. Global Rescue checked in on me everyday and were able to provide additional advice on how to recover.

Entire process where I had to ask Global Rescue for help was managed very professionally (namely, an emergency heli-evac from Plaza de Mulas camp at Aconcagua). Special mention to Hector from Global Rescue who spent time for 3 days with me at the hospital in Mendoza, making sure I get the translations from Spanish, explained to me all procedures and processes, sent me necessary documentation, etc. Really made my stay their much-much easier! Very grateful to have had this insurance following a paragliding accident in Calle de Bravo, Mexico.

The team coordinated my transport to the hospital and put me up in a hotel as a courtesy once I was discharged.

Very fortunate I could walk away from the accident with only one fractured vertebrae in my back.

I had my own medical insurance to cover the hospital fees - NOTE - medical insurance coverage is an additional cost to the Global Rescue offering. Do not buy Global Rescue and think your medical bills will be covered, they will take care of your transportation.

I was a motorbike rider in a group of 12 (all current members of Global Rescue) sightseeing in the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. One rider fell off and broke his back. Phoned GR on a Sat phone the company did nothing but advise us to seek local assistance. I recommend not to use this company as they provided zero support

Paid policy holder who luckily didn’t need Global Rescue services directly, however another member travelling with us was seriously injured and we received no assistance when trying to rescue him from a potentially life threatening situation. Save your money, you’ll be fending for yourself anyway.

Such bad service, correction no service or help from Global Rescue on a recent trip to Mongolia where a friend had critical spinal injuries in the desert over a day south of the capital. Shameful!
