We fly in for dining quite often. The setting is beautiful and the food was adequate but the service was nonexistent. We never saw our server after we were seated and ordered. We eventually asked one of the other servers for more coffee and she was very pleasant.
After waiting an extended period of time, we went to the front counter and asked for our check. The lady who had originally greeted us went to find our server but she offered no apology or explanation and made no effort toward service recovery.
Mistakes happen and can be a great opportunity for professional service recovery that could have made all the difference - well run organizations know how important this is.
We will fly in again and hopefully the leadership will make the effort to work with the service staff to improve the customer experience.

Recently, my brother and I took our fishing trip to Gaston’s Resort. The stay was comfortable and memorable. Our fishing guide, Rick O’Neale took great care of our daily fishing experience. We caught our limit each day. Our time was filled with good conversation and we enjoyed being with him very much.

Visited Gaston's on 9 Aug, 2024 with my nephew. We felt 24 was the best landing and 06 the best takeoff. On the 06 takeoff, there are a few trees to your left that you will need to sidestep and establish a positive right turn climb as soon as possible. Use all of the available grass unless your in a low speed take off plane. Food was great, waitress was AWESOME and the restaurant atmosphere was perfect.

This place has been here since 1958 and the beds in my cabin were still from 1958. Hey some things get nostalgic with age, mattresses are not one of them. Update your beds Gaston it would have been more comfortable sleeping on cardboard!!! The rooms are old but kept up just the beds, lack of wifi and, and lack of TV that make you feel like your still in 1950’s. Employees were wonderful but not much sleep
On those beds. Beds aside the location on the white river is magical nice riverside access and well managed lawns jumping in the ice cold water for a daily cold water plunge was perfect. Even on the hottest summer day it’s cool next to the river.

Hung out with family as they stayed here. Beautiful pool and tennis courts. Amazing food!!! The staff are the best!!! Rooms are clean and the river views are just beautiful!

We stayed in cabin #15 which had a king size bed as well as a double bed. The cabin was freshly painted, with tiled floor, a new electric stove and was very clean. It is air conditioned with a reliable unit. It was stocked with necessary kitchen dishes, pots, utensils and plenty of fresh towels. The bed was very comfortable. I recommend that you bring an extra king size blanket as the bed spread is standard but you may get cold sleeping. The restaurant had wonderful food. We rented a boat to fish the river and Phillip was a wonderful helper on the operations of the boat and how to fish.

First of all, water at restaurant is served in a Wine Glass. Seemed like it was always empty, full of ice, no water. If you don’t mind sitting in a Hard Wiid Chair - Great. There was nobody there, and we water forever for water, food, and bill. $18 Burger was the size of an Arby’s regular meat sandwich. I’m sorry, but our First Time, probably our last. Who serves water in a glass that small, if nobody is there to fill it. There were 3 tables of people and it was the slowest service I’ve had in 10 years. Sorry - I didn’t see a reason to go back. The chairs are horrible. The waitress was a nice person, but I thought she went home.

Top notch service at a great price! Gaston’s continues to deliver their motto! Restaurant—-top notch! Rooms—-super clean! Place is beautiful! A tornado/super storm hit the area. Lights and water would not work after the storm BUT the Employees had breakfast and lunch ready for everyone!! The team work here is phenomenal! They need a tv show. Can’t say enough good things about this place or the employees. Thank you!! We’ll be back!
