We have always enjoyed the informative docent tour. Our family and friends appreciate the display of miniature Windmills from Around the World..amazing details and visitors can watch the operable Windmills! The Gift Shop has Holland imported gifts, plus speciality Dutch cookies. The volunteers are kind and hospitable! Recommend visiting " Fulton Windmill Welcome Center"!

The windmill they erected here a few years ago is amazing, and fully functional! But it comes as a big surprise that the welcome centre houses over a dozen handmade windmill models for various windmill types from around the world, each has taken hundreds of hours to make. And four also have working motors to illustrate how they work. Absolutely fantastic!

Anyone who travels through NW Illinois without stopping to tour the Fulton Windmill doesn't know what they are missing! In addition to the chance to see an authentic and working windmill, you can learn a great deal about the history and heritage of the Dutch people who settled in the Fulton area. The welcome center adds to the experience, as well as numerous little shops close by. I never tire of visiting the windmill!
