This was my first time to a Frank Lloyd Wright house and it was an excellent tour. The volunteer guide was very knowledgeable and funny. It was a very casual slow-paced tour with plenty of opportunities to take pictures (and volunteer to play the piano if you know how). The house was gorgeous with lots of wide spacious areas to walk through. But the tour also took the time to explain or answer questions about design decisions that didn't work out well, such as having a flat roof which led to leaks and cracks because of the rain. The Visitor Center across the street had some nice, reasonably-priced souvenirs. Highly recommend a tour if you are in the area.

I was traveling to Rockford last week. I had an amazing tour with Dan. He was so patient in educating us about everything he knows regarding Frank Lloyd Wright's Laurent House. He told us that he explains things the way he would like to understand them himself. He shared many stories related to this property. I am thankful for what I learned during this tour. He seems to know a lot about Mr. Wright. I really enjoyed the tour with Dan.

This house tells an incredible story. A brilliant architect met the needs of a disabled world war II veteran, who lived here for 60 years and raised his family.

A wonderful example of FLW's ability to work with clients and create a spectacular space tailored to their needs. A great tour for any FLW fan, photographer, or architecture lover. Sitting and looking out of the back of the house to nature was wonderful.

Visiting the Laurent House was an absolute delight! Our docent John did a wonderful job of showing us the house and answering any questions the group had; as a retired architect, he offered a wonderful perspective. I'm thankful the Foundation is taking such good care of the house and sharing it with visitors--which is just what the Laurents would want. Make sure you buy tickets from the Foundation's website ahead of time.

It doesn’t look much from the front. The interior and the backyard are great. It was a pity they close so early on a Saturday.

Had a great time there! The volunteer guide was knowledgeable, fun and friendly. It was nice to hear how the owner and Frank Lloyd Wright design and renovate the house through out their long stay at the resident. The house is beautifully preserved and maintained as well.
