I have always refrained from leaving negative reviews, but I believe this situation warrants it.

I had confirmed reservations for two rooms this upcoming weekend, just two days away. However, when I called this afternoon to confirm, I was informed that my reservations had been canceled. The front desk supervisor explained that the cancellations were due to ongoing renovations on one floor, which failed inspection, and yet still, another floor had also been closed. To be honest, with my extensive background in hospitality, I find this explanation questionable.

I requested a call from the general manager over seven hours ago, but I have yet to receive a response. Although, after hours of nonsense, they processed refunds to my card, I was informed it could take 3-5 business days to reflect in my account. In the meantime, I now cannot secure alternate accommodations, and I have non-refundable flights, dog boarding, and other commitments.

This weekend holds particular significance for me, as my sister, who is ill, requested this time together. During my career in hospitality management, and while my husband oversaw up to 110 properties, it was standard practice to arrange alternative accommodations for guests in cases of overbooking or cancellations. In this instance, I have not received any proactive communication, apology, or assistance. I was met with indifferent responses and a dismissive attitude, which is incredibly hurtful and disappointing. I am left wondering what would have happened had we arrived unaware of the situation.

I trust that this feedback will be taken seriously to improve the customer experience moving forward.

Marriottt, I believe that you are better than this, and that you deserve better than a customer service employee who is flippant with your guests and a manager that doesn’t return calls. .

Most if not all the hotel under construction. Restaurant in the hotel is permanently closed. I did not see anything about this when booking and booked at this hotel party for this restaurant. Had no other choice but to venture out in the town to find another place to dine which was very inconvenient and time consuming.
The walls are paper thin and can hear all the conversations from the others guests in their rooms. Could clearly hear a phone conversation from the guest and the person on the phone. It was on speaker phone and was shocked how I could hear word for word the entire conversation.
A lamp fell off the wall next to the bed when I touched it.
I was then moved to another room after I reported this.
The next room was no better other then I didn’t have any lamps falling off. That being said I was extra careful when touching the lamps to turn them on and off.
And the beds and pillows were awful. Incredibly ridiculously soft. Like nothing I’d ever slept on. Which of course led to a terrible restless sleep. A sleep that was important to me as I had a very long drive ahead of me the next morning.
To sum it up this was a very unpleasant stay and will not return. Would never recommend staying here.

Watch your credit card statements. I booked via a third party and found $50 charges on my card directly from the hotel.

The staff and manager are poor at best, unable to resolve the issue or return several calls. Looks like a theme from previous review. I was able to get the charges reversed by the credit card company with absolutely no interest or action from the staff working there.

As for the actual hotel…no better. Dated, dirty, and in need of repair. Stay away from this one.

Sadly, if I could give a zero star rating, I would. Arrived to check in only to be told our reservation had been canceled. Other folks in the lobby were having the same experience. We were never notified, left scrambling at 8pm with an 11m old baby who needed to go to bed. Clerk at the front desk offered no assistance, called us impatient, and had no sympathy. We stayed here every year, but never will again. We ended up at the Comfort Suites down the street for less money, breakfast included, abd friendly staff. Highly recommend you go there instead!

The absolute worst experience that I have had at a hotel. I booked ahead on their own website and prepaid for the room. When we showed up to check in, we were told that we didn't have a room as the hotel over booked. The front desk worker muttered an insincere sorry with no explanation. When I questioned him about it, he said that someone should have called me but nobody did. He called his supervisor and told us that his supervisor would come down. After 20 minutes of waiting with a baby that needed to go to sleep we left in search of a new hotel. There were two other people in the same boat as us. Luckily, one of them had called Comfort Suites, and told us that they had rooms available. Save yourself the headache and some money and go stay there instead.

My reservation was canceled an hour before check in due to "incomplete renovations" and I never received a call or email. I had booked the room 3 months in advance by calling the hotel directly. I only discovered my room was canceled because others traveling for the same event in town had reported their own rooms also being canceled last minute/day of arrival. I had to call the hotel to discover that not only did I not have a room, I would need to scramble to find a replacement room during a busy convention weekend. Customer Service/hotel management was unapologetic for the extremely short notice.

I stayed at this hotel because it was recommended to me by a relative who was getting married on the area, but I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone else. ||First, it is undergoing a significant renovation that isn’t publicized on their website. It’s a construction zone with caution tape all over. There is also a layer of fine particulate matter on every surface that didn’t appear to be cleaned at any point in my multi-day stay. It felt like a biohazard, and I could feel my lungs tightening up whenever I walked in from outside. The only place to sit was a mantle ledge that would leave your butt covered in white powder. I know because my butt print from the first night remained as a reminder of my stay through checkout. At least wipe down the obvious stuff, come on now. ||The pool which was advertised as heated was frigid. I had been looking forward to enjoying a lot of pool time, but after 15 minutes, I was shivering so hard I had to get out. The pool also was dirty, with numerous pieces of trash in it that weren’t cleaned over the entirety of my stay. And the pool towels. Honestly, why even have them there if you give your patrons bath mats. Bath mats! Which aren’t pool towels. ||The rooms are incredibly dark. When I had every light on in the room, it still felt like I was in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere at 2am. And don’t even get me started on the showers. Whoever designed a shower with a stationary wall that requires you to get drenched by a blast of cold water to turn the thing on should be forced to use that design in their own homes in perpetuity. When I’m waking up, I don’t want to be tired, naked, and freezing cold. That’s how the showers left me. ||The beds were extremely comfortable. The one positive. ||Overall, whoever runs this hotel needs to serious reconsider their occupation, if there even is someone running it. Don’t charge people what you do and give them a bait and switch. Just awful.

Arrived and while checking in, the front desk decided it was “funny” that I wasn’t aware of the extra fee for being a Saginaw resident. After going to the pool, informed front desk that we needed pool towels. She brought out 2 bath towels and said she would have more to us soon. Never received them. Got ready for bed and notice the let out couch didn’t have sheets, pillows, or covers. Went to front desk and front stated that they didn’t have any sheets and only had 1 pillow available when I needed 2! Pull back sheets on king bed and it there were crumbs in the bed from previous guest!! Didn’t sleep at all through the night. I will never book here again.!!! Definitely wasted my money on this King Suite. Oh and I forgot to add, ice machine only works on 1 floor of the whole hotel
