Traveled with Far Horizons on their Discover the American Southwest Trip. Our study leader Stephen Lekson, a renowned archaeologist, excellent teacher and raconteur provided us with information, stories, history and. personal experiences at each of the sites we visited. Our Tour Manager, Judy was and is a most gracious and accommodating person who made sure everything from hotel accommodations, meals, timelines and tours went smoothly. (They did). We had an excellent driver, Scott, who was also a fun person to travel with. All the participants were friendly, warm, on time and uncomplaining. We all had an appreciation for the history, archaeological sites, exploring and activities involved on this trip, i.e. museums, archaeological sites, walking tours, interaction with Native Americans who shared stories about their lives.
It was a fascinating and enriching experience.

We've been on (at least) four trips with Far Horizons. From climbing into the depth of the Great Pyramid to relaxing on a gulet in Türkiye to climbing Nemrut Dağı to feeling the accomplishments of the first Americans -- we've enjoyed every trip and look forward to more. If you want to learn the history behind the sights, and get a feeling for your place in the human story, they can't be beat.

My husband and I recently returned from the "Tuscany & Umbria: Art & Architecture" trip with Professor Bill Cook. It was WONDERFUL! I had minored in this subject at University but had never had the chance to see the art and architecture in person. Far Horizons was very responsive, detailed in their Travel Bulletins, protective of the health of the group and the Tour Manager Kelly Bryson was absolutely awesome. We couldn't be happier and will definitely book our next cultural trip with them. They are the best!

We had a really great time on our Hidden Mexico trip last year. We stayed in some excellent boutique hotels, and visited many magnificent museums and archeological sites. We had a very charming tour leader, a good translator and an excellent archeology expert to explain what we were seeing. The pace was good, the sites were not at all crowded, and the small group was very friendly.

One disappointment was the choice of restaurants and menus, which did not show off the best that Mexico has to offer. Spaghetti again? Another was that the minivan was a bit broken, such that the beefy driver had to come round and yank open the sticky door before we could get out. Management was very attentive to our feedback, so I expect these issues will have been fixed by the next time the tour runs.

Far Horizons is a first-class cultural trip provider. I have just returned from my second Far Horizons tour in the last 12 months. The venues are extremely well-planned. The tour guides and specialists are top researchers in their field and are chosen for their excellent communication skills. I cannot recommend Far Horizons enough to anyone interested in the best archaeological or cultural tours.
