This area is beautiful and has become one of our favorite areas to stop and camp. There are a lot of outdoor activities all around the area, and we enjoy both hiking and driving the many features around the canyon.

Even if you're just passing through, it's a very relaxing and peaceful area to stop for the evening. Like the other State Park's in the area, they have done a GREAT job upgrading/maintaining this parcel. Thank you, State of Nevada! Campgrounds are clean and have payment kiosks if needed.

As of Sep 2024, Echo Canyon Reservoir has water in it and thankfully is looking healthier than just a few short years ago. The RV campground is nicely laid out and has large 1-way pull throughs with covered patios and concrete picnic tables.

We will definitely be back again and can't wait to keep exploring up the canyon!

Beautiful campground with amazing campsites and clean bathrooms. Each campsite has a grill, a fire pit, a spigot, and a shaded picnic table with plenty of room for a car and 1 tent for most. There is a wood donation area but plan to bring your own firewood and no showers are available that I could see. The tree cover is sparse, especially in some campsites with 1 tree, so expect more of a desert landscape and the reservoir is only good for fishing, do not expect to go for a swim. It is a very nice campsite with amazing amenities including drinking water, a drainage for RVs, and surprisingly clean bathrooms with running water. Unfortunately there are not many trails nearby within walking distance but there are a lot of things to explore within a 15 minute drive such as cathedral gorge. Overall a great experience!

Stayed at the northern campground and it was AMAZINGLY beautiful. There is only 1 set of bathrooms, but they are flush tiolets (outside of winter), and they are towards the bottom of the hill. The site I stayed at was fairly flat and had gorgeous plants and flowers growing all around it with a picnic table under a shelter, a water spout, standing grill and firepit!
The Ash Canyon hike was breathtakingly fantastic and a bit harder than I expected. Many large rock steps mostly down and a few up. Wonderfully carved into the rocks with a few hand rails and guards to prevent falls into the canyon. The trail is a little overgrown but easy to follow.

Nice campground tucked between some hills. There are some trees for shade and each site has a table and shade structure.
Most of the sites are big enough for at least small trailers; ours is 26 feet and fit in our spot easily.
The reservoir is adjacent to the campground and is small, but stocked with fish and bug enough for a small boat.

I am biased on my reviews with Nevada State Parks. Let me explain why:

Echo Canyon State Park is only a few hours outside of Las Vegas and delivers mountain views, clean forest air & skies (minimal/no light pollution), great camping (clean showers! and restrooms), and the quiet & peaceful ambience of a mountain landscape.

Echo Canyon State Park features Echo Canyon Reservior which is popular for fishing and boating in a very comfortable size reservior. Shore fishing is just as great and the smaller size of the reservior make exploring the shorelines easy: a quick car drive can get you across the other side of the lake in minutes, or exploring the inlet of Meadow Valley Wash.

There are also hikes to explore, the bridge to nowhere, and Spring Valley State Park, and Cathedral Gorge State Park are both not too far, nearby. And out of these three State Parks, Echo Canyon is often the least busy/occupied, which makes it one of my favorites.

Escape the city here, or if you're driving/passing through our state, this park is the best to set up basecamp if you are exploring the area.

Very nice campground. Large sites, easy access. 2 campgrounds, 1 with power, water and sewer at each site. The one with power is up on top of a hill, it is very windy. Good AT&T cell reception. The other one has water only at each site, with a large restroom with showers. This site has very poor cell reception. There is a lake, but when we were there, the water was very nasty, algae bloom I think. Nice views, valley below.
