Not a lot to say about a military base main gate, but the airmen guarding it got me through quickly with accurate directions to the Landings, where my event was being held.

I was greeted promptly when I arrived. The staff was kind, followed protocol. Waiting area clean and organized, instructions are posted and clear. There was plenty of parking.

Found out I was supposed to go to Personnel. They even asked me if I knew the way...uh..yeah. The airman that talked to me was very polite and did not laugh at my mistake while I was in hearing distance. Now whether or not after I left it could have happened. I know I'd be cracking up over it.

We arrived to Dover AFB at 1am. Our flight crew was amazing, helpful, courteous. Because this is a 100% ID-required base and airport, our Über driver had to meet us just outside of the main gate, but they have a very nice parking area there with plenty of spaces for pickups and dropoffs. All 19 of us passengers this morning had to walk the .4 mile up to the main gate, but after for sitting on a 8-hour flight, it was actually fun and it added to our adventure. Plus, it was a warm and balmy night. We left our luggage carts up by the guard gate lol This is a very nice military base!

The staff was very rude and unwelcoming. I entered the building with people just standing around waiting. There was no one to point you in the right direction, but just signs posted everywhere! I opened the office door to ask for help and the blonde/orange headed lady basically scolled me for doing that. I told her I needed help and she began to talk down to me saying "it's signs everywhere" and pointed to them. I reacted saying it's not that serious and she disagreed and said it was. I finally signed in. A few mins later a man came out with the same rudeness!! Pronounced my name with a K and it was clearly a L written down, told him why I was there and he wanted documentation stating I had to drop something off. Okay, maybe that's protocol, I get it...but the way he was talking to me like I had some time of learning disability was wild!! A few mins later he came out to service another woman and was so kind and patient with her. It was clear what issue he had with me. I hope to never have to deal with these folks again!! Very unprofessional!

Not one of my favorite places I know they have to be serious while at work but it don't hurt to be more cordious instead of the opposite.
