My sister, niece and I participated in the Sip & Shop event on May 12 and it was fantastic! I’m not sure what they expected for the first time but I sure hope they do it again. I bought things and visited stores I don’t usually shop at. It was a fun event and I will recommend it to everyone next time! It was an inexpensive way ($20) to spend an evening, sipping and shopping sturgeon bay. The trolley was also a great idea for those who do not like to walk…or a good option if it would have rained.

Pam was awesome. She was passionate and enthusiastic when talking about all the things to do in the area. Particularly loved the Saturday block event that she brought to our attention. Thank you for making the first experience to Door County better.

We had a great visit to the area. We do need to mention our experience at Madison Avenue Market. We browsed the store and purchased a jar of preserves marked $5.95. We used a credit card for the purchase, and when we got back to rental home and looked at receipt we noticed we were charged $15.95 for the preserves We went back to the store and same clerk smiled and said “expensive jelly”. Another lady, maybe the owner, went to register and gave us $10.00 cash, with no remark! Is this a normal practice with local merchants? We certainly hope not.

They are serious when they say that this is about Sturgeon Bay specifically, although they have some pamphlets for the rest of Door County. That said, the woman was very friendly & answered a lot of questions. Glad to see them having masks & protective Plexiglas for their people.
