Me and my siblings got the opportunity to ride trails this week and it was AMAZING!! I have never met someone with such a vast knowledge of the horses as Miss Jennifer. The horse I rode, Joe, is my favorite horse I've ridden. You can tell the horses are very well taken care of and that Miss Jennifer loves all of her animals. Miss Jennifer not only taught us about the horses, but also the wildlife and plants that live along the trail. My siblings really enjoyed it and she made sure we were all safe and comfortable. 10/10 recommend. Thank you, Miss Jennifer, for the best riding experience I've ever had!

10/10 recommend!! Jennifer is incredible! One of us had zero riding experience and I am almost deaf. Jennifer was so accommodating and made it so that everyone was comfortable on the ride. The horses were wonderful! Seeing Yuma in such a different light was absolutely amazing! Felt like I was in Oregon Trail as we went across the river. ?‍♀️? Her family was so kind- the ranch was beautiful. Loved absolutely everything about it!

If I could give her more stars I would because not only was this experience phenomenal from start to finish but at the very beginning of our ride 2 guys who decided to show up as horrendous humans that day, came flying past the horses in their jeep and when she tried to get them to slow down they literally tried to hit her and had to slam on their brakes at the last second. They were screaming obscenities at her like she was the problem. To know that she also has to deal with people like that- and risked her life for the safety of the horses shows exactly who she is. Thank you to the off duty cop and his son who witnessed it! Reminder to slow down and be kind! ?

Fantastic 5/5 Highly Recommend. I run a trail riding business myself in Canada, I can vouch that this company provides an amazing experience for all levels of riders, she provides excellent instruction and makes sure you are matched with the perfect horse for your riding level. Jennifer’s care and passion for her horses is evident in everything that she does, they are all healthy with great feet. The ride itself has a range of scenery from the wetlands, and Jennifer does an amazing job telling you about the wildlife, the plants, the river, and the history of the land. Amazing trail ride for all levels of riders. Jen made sure we were all comfortable on our horses before we headed out to the trail. You can tell the horses and animals are happy and well taken care of at her ranch! She led my 6 year old on his own horse and he was comfortable, secure, and had the best time! We enjoyed having her dogs come along and we were all on the trails together. My husband and I had so much fun crossing the river with the horses. Jen made sure my family had plenty of photos during the ride and everyone left with a smile on their face! I highly recommend booking with Desert Horse Adventures!

My daughter and I had a great time at Desert Horse Adventures. We were in a Motor Home and because we wanted an early start, Jennifer allowed us to park on her property (small fee). What I didn't think of was that allowed us to enjoy the evening there which was fantastic. We set up a small campfire under the stars and had smores. In the morning my 11 yo daughter became a ranch hand - helping Jennifer with all the chores. I'd never seen my daughter be so responsible!! (Jennifer gave me a few hints about doling out responsibility without being a helicopter parent, so-to-speak). The morning ended with a horseriding lesson which my daughter loved and then we were on our way. Jennifer should consider advertising her place as a 1/2 day "Dude Ranch" for children! Next time we come we will bring our 5 yo daughter (and wife) to enjoy the activities... hopefully an adventure ride out into the river.
ps FYI, we also took in the Hull Mine at Castle Dome Museum about 50mi north of Yuma. The fluorescent minerals deep in that mine simply light up the walls with a kaleidoscope of colors. Well worth the entry fee!
So... Desert Horse Adventures, Hull Mine, and Cracker Barrel made for a GREAT weekend away from San Diego!

Really great experience. Jennifer shows you how to brush and saddle your own horse and makes sure you're comfortable with the horses before you go out on the trail. Fun ride along the Colorado and Gila Rivers. Horses were great, sound trail horses. Definitely a worth while adventure while in Yuma.
