I just got home from this place even though we are supposed to leave tomorrow. When we stayed almost 5 years ago, it was really nice. It was not the best room condition, but i was fine. (We stayed 1 bedroom cottage in front of the kids' cove area.)

But, this time was all different story. We booked 2 bedrooms cottage backside of beach for 2nights. We didn't sleep in that room even one night because of the cockroaches. When we entered the room, it looked clean and nice. But I immediately found something in the bathrooms....the cockroach... I killed it immediately and tried to ignore it and not ruin our little vacation. But nope. We saw many more. Bathroom, counter tops, on the floor... It's like 2cm size to little little baby size, too. We couldn't sleep there with our little toddler who had immune problems, so we went home(Luckily, we live in San diego). Back to the following day , we just enjoyed the beach and decided to leave. I mentioned to the lady at the front desk, and she asked if I called the manager. I certainly didn't. But what can they do? Kill all cockroaches? I'm sure there are tons in that cottage. Please please stop renting that place before fumigation.

BLUF: Worth the price, especially for families with children.

Cabins: Basic. One bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. Small porch and your own fire pit. TV has cable/satellite connection for several channels.

Facilities: Excellent. It's Camp Pendleton, there is a MCX and Commissary, bowling alley, mini golf and more.

Needs a deep cleaning. There was a mice dead in room, but they cane right and removed it. It was very nice to bebeaten by the weather. Right on the beach with firepit and grill for your personal use.

Best beach in Southern California, if you're military. Easy access, nice sand, cabanas for rent with grills. Make sure to check the tide charts and bring your favorite surf/boogie board. Playground and showers on site as well.

Truly the best you can get! I just wish they would take better care of the rooms. There were too many issues in the room to chalk up to a simple mistake. The maintenance staff needs to take some time in each of these rooms. It is unlikely that no one has noticed the problems that plague these beautiful beach condos.

Del Mar Beach & Marina is a cool little spot to tent camp, RV & trailer camp, or just visit the beach for anyone with military base access. There are stores and restaurants nearby on base or even more off-base in Oceanside or Carlsbad. We love camping here at least once every summer, if not more.

We were there at 5am. Doing some stretches and calisthenics. Then we hit the water and started our workout. Everyone put out this morning and got a good workout out in. Today was D-Day’s Anniversary and then everyone realizing became determined to go the extra mile for the remaining time we had left. Solid morning

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage in the back of the marina. It looks nice from the outside and even when you walk in. But these places must be dirtier than the eye can see because as soon as night appeared so did all the cockroaches. And I mean you couldn't turn the lights off at all because five seconds dark and they were out. So we had to leave all the lights on all night. They were mainly in the kitchen coming out of refrigerator/stove. But I bet they would have crawled to rooms if we didn't leave every light on all night. Did sleep with bed lights off and was okay. Washed every bit of laundry and blankets when we got home. I'll never ever go back. Stay in an RV on beach, much better. Of even at the Pacific hotel, that place is nice.
