This hotel was very close <10 min from Yale and was very conveniently 30 minutes walk from the Metro station. Michelle was very friendly and accommodating my check in at around 10pm and the rooms were spacious and clean. Overall a great value hotel with great service to Yale.

I want to first thank Kenneth Gribbon for taking care of our companies room block from start to finish! Ken has also gone above and beyond to take care of us even after our stay.
We are a pretty big domestic & international group with a lot of requests due to the type of work we do and all our needs were met with 0 issues!
The customer service, hospitality, cleanliness of rooms and overall experience was genuine and above exceptional.
Anytime myself or my team are in New Haven we will be staying here!
Thank you to Ken and the amazing staff once again 🙂

Everybody was so kind and the cleanliness of my room and bathroom were great! I had a very easy, comfortable stay. Loved the restaurant, whether it was for a meal or my favorite Starbucks beverage! Great service and friendliness from all staff members I encountered during my stay.

Positive: Staff who checked me in Monday night was excellent and extremely helpful when I called in Saturday evening. The woman who checked me out Tuesday at 11am was also incredibly helpful and welcoming. Negative: I didn?t see yoga mats in the gym.

Beds were comfortable but the heater didn't work. The maintenance person came, but it still didn't work. Cold water in the shower. Old rooms with very dark carpet that made it feel dirty. Very small room.

I had to edit my review. This is a great place to stay. The staff is awesome! They whisper in the hallways as to not disturb their guests. They give you a map of the city when you check in. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. And the TV in my room was huge. Thank you New Haven Marriott.

Upon hearing from me the rate I paid using a third-party site, the sales manager told me that rates shouldn't be so low. He said he would notify the third-party sites to raise their rates, which would apply if I decided to extend for another night. I extended by going to another hotel.

Bonvoy Member. Booked room with company card. Checked in and gave personal card for incidentals. They ended up charging the room and incidentals to my personal card. Never had this happen at another Marriot property. This wouldn’t be that big of a deal if there weren’t other factors that made my stay unpleasant, so here we go.

1. Stayed in room 810 and it smelled very musty. I was traveling for business and way too tired to look into changing rooms so I stuck it out.
2. The shower curtain was not long enough to extend past the brim of the tub so when I showered water literally flooded the floor of the bathroom. Probably why the room smells.
3. When I checked in I signed a form giving information about my car to park in their garage. Apparently I didn’t read the fine print because they charged me $25 to park for one night. The front desk never vocalized that there was a charge to park, they just put it in the fine print on your vehicle information form. That’s shady. Asked to have it removed given that they made a mistake with my card and they told me tough luck. I’ve never had a Marriott property charge me to park. It’s New Haven, not New York, and your parking spots barely wide enough to park a sub compact.

Really not happy with this hotel, which is unfortunate because I’m going to be coming to New Haven a lot for work going forward. Guess I need to find a better property because this one is run down and can’t part with $25 to make things right with their guests.
