We are four travelers from O’Hare to Madison. The bus driver informed us that the bus was full and that we couldn’t bring our carry-on luggage on board. He asked us to check in and that we would have to pay extra for the four carry-on suitcases. I don’t understand why we should have to pay for the four carry-ons. When I boarded the bus, I noticed that there was enough space for my four carry-on bags to fit in. If you consider the way flights operate, one carry-on bag and two checked bags are usually allowed. The flight does charge extra for carry-on luggage if there is no space in the cabin.

This location on Pearl Street is NOT the bus station. The station is on Pontiac Dr. company should update this listing to reflect this.

I used to ride Van Galder to O’Hare frequently and the service was reliable, WiFi worked and experience very good

Under Coach ownership experience has changed for worse…. Cramped seats, electric plugs don’t work and WiFi out. Left stranded due to bus being way oversold…,

I’m done with Coach USA …. Not worth the hassle or headache

P.S. The only positive thing that I have to say is the drivers of the bus are very friendly and they try their best. Returning from O’Hare last night, I was really impressed with the driver who is willing to stick around and make sure we had a connection. I think the problem with this company is not the employees but its management. It is a very noticeable difference under the new management versus historical van galder, And it is absolutely for the worst

Fabulous experience. They were utilized to bring us back from a wedding venue to the hotels. Everything was easy and smooth until I left my purse on the bus! David Schemling was so great and responsive and helped me get my purse back. Everyone I engaged with through the company was so nice and helpful.

As other reviewers have indicated, the change at Ohare from the now former bus shuttle location to the new MMF (Multi Modal Facilty) is not indicated anywhere in the main terminal signage. We missed our bus because of this. The directions to the MMF was not at all clear. While all of the above is likely no fault of Coach USA, the additional issue of inadequate seat-row spacing must be addressed. Unless you are under four feet tall, you can forget about a comfortable ride. We have been Van Galder customers for nearly two decades. Recent experiences have forced us to consider alternate plans in the future.

Our first tour with Coach USA/Van Galder was good. Enjoyed the 2 days but the third day should have been better planned! Didn't really have enough time in Galena! Our director Pat was very good. She's friendly and if you had a question she would answer it. I would go on another trip with her as the director. Loved the pocket itinerary! Although found the driver not so friendly! He never said a word to us! Been on a lot of bus trips with other companies and the drivers have always been very friendly! This one not so much!

Have always found the drivers, schedules and service with Coach USA/Van Galder to be very good.

Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with service of late.

Booked tickets to Chicago but accidentally hit one-way vs round-trip. Immediately contacted VanGalder Coach USA to see about converting it to a round-trip ticket as it was $15 cheaper.

Had 4 more to purchase for other people on their cards and several for an upcoming trip the end of month.

Even though it was "immediately" after I placed the order-- they would not assist me.

For this many people it's actually cheaper to take a limo.

Going to eat my one-way tickets and the group isn't booking this trip or the next.

They made money on my two one-way tickets and I lost $15 if I wanted to take bus from O'Hare home, but the company lost over $500 over the next 2 weeks and goodwill of customers.

I'm sure it's nothing in the scheme of things to them, but most organizations would help you as long as it was addressed immediately.
