Tonopah Nv . Fun sight seeing and discovering the old museum, and star gazing, learning all about the mining town & ghost hotels , & graveyards… also nature hot springs in goldfield Nv, it was so hot ! So nice . Along with the international car forest ! What a site to see ! It was so cool 😎.

It would seem they have fixed the map problem, but it's still hard to see in the dark and the road is dangerous at night. The little park was locked by the time we got there and the sign said no camping, despite people saying it's a great place for camping, so we just parked off the "road" and slept til dawn. Light pollution is also a huge problem so maybe they should rename it or something 🤷

Google maps will send you to far. Turn at the high school and follow the dirt road out. You will see the fenced park area off to the right. There are benches and fence slates on the portion of fence that faces the town. I found the lights from the fuel station to be super bright. The wind kicks up and it gets cold so come prepared for that. It was worth the stop despite the light irritation.

I agree with the rest, nice clean place with benches. Follow the signs on the 95, not Google Maps. And there is quite an amount of light pollution from the gas pollution from the gas station. They tried to block that with fences.

Very nice and quiet spot, unable to see the star as it was cloudy. Great place for overnight camping.

We came out from Dallas Tx to see Tonopah and because of the meteor shower though it would be the perfect place to go.
I’m only giving 2 stars because the concept of the place is cool but the was so much light pollution we could barely make out the Milky Way. We we both disappointed after really looking forward to a great stargazing night. Would not recommend

Directions on Google were wrong and led to hazardous dirt roads. Follow the signs instead. Correct turnoff is at Texaco sign, across from Dollar Tree. Lights from Texaco and 76 polarize the sky unfortunately. Headlights from incoming drivers can be blinding, and disoriented drivers can drive around the park looking for appropriate parking. Otherwise, not a bad place. Some nice benches and picnic tables.

We went to see the Perseid meteor shower. The light pollution was awful!
Seriously, dive 5 minutes either direction out of town and you'll come to a turn-off. One went towards what looks like a solar field and has a long, paved road that's completely empty. The other is closer to the road but even there, you can see SO many more stars than at the star gazing park.
