Amazing tour. Didn’t even know we had such in Chicago. Was just looking for a birthday present for my fiancĆ© who loves pizza and stumbled upon this! James was the perfect tour guide, funny, knowledgeable, easy going and just made us all feel comfortable. Went to 4 pizza restaurants and they were all soooo good. We were rolling home stuffed! Amazing way to get to know some pizza history especially on the Lou Malnati family dynamics and history. Well worth doing! The school bus taking us to the different spots was nostalgic !

I had a really good experience on the tour. I went by myself but left knowing so many people. They were all friendly. There was a total of 4 stops, all different styles and types of pizza. There's a bus that takes you to each location. The guide was really knowledgeable. You leave full. Would recommend for anyone visiting the city.

This was such an amazing tour! Jon was a great guide! He provided a lot of insight and background to the pizza we were going to be eating and what made each pizzeria we went to unique. I really felt like I was getting to know the families that started the pizzerias through the stories he shared and it definitely made the pizzas themselves feel more personal. I would 100% recommend this tour!

If you’re a pizza lover visiting Chicago, this tour is an absolute must! We went on a Friday, just three days before St. Patrick’s Day, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip.

Our guide, James, was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and hilarious! As a stand-up comedian, he kept the group entertained with great stories and jokes while sharing impressive insights about the city, its deep-rooted pizza culture, and food in general. His passion for Chicago and its culinary scene was evident from start to finish.

The tour took us to three amazing pizza spots: Robert’s Pizza, Labriola Pizza, and Eataly. Each stop offered a different style of pizza, allowing us to experience a variety of flavors and textures. Whether you love crispy thin crust, classic deep-dish, or something in between, this tour has it all.

Beyond pizza, James even gave us some great recommendations for hot dog spots to check out, proving his expertise extends well beyond just one iconic Chicago dish.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. It’s well worth your time, and I’d gladly take it again with friends or family. If you love food, fun, and a bit of laughter along the way, you won’t be disappointed!

We found the Chicago Pizza Tour highly reviewed online and decided to give it a try. James, our guide, was engaging, funny, and had a ton of knowledge about Chicago. The tour is conducted on an old-school bus, which adds a fun and whimsical touch to the experience.

We stopped at four different pizza places where a variety of pizzas were ordered. The tour was great about taking allergies and personal preferences into account, ensuring that everyone was catered to. You can also order drinks at each of the stops, which adds to the overall experience.

Each stop lasted about 30-40 minutes, and the timing was perfect. We never felt rushed, nor did we feel like it was dragging on. The varieties of pizza were delicious, and by the end of the tour, I was stuffed. One tip: be sure to skip breakfast before you go, as you’ll definitely need room for all the great pizza!

Loved this experience. We got to try some pizzas we would have never ordered on our own. We had everything from stuffed pizza to tavern-style pizza. One place even had pizza that tasted like the pie we had in Rome (light, crispy, stone-baked crust). We even has a S'more pizza! John is crazy nice and told us all about Chicago's interesting pizza history. You will definitely be stuffed by the end. This tour is good for kids too. Our 13-year-old son came, and he liked. it. Probably not as good for babies or toddlers as some of the places have tight seating and there is a lot of moving around from restaurant to restaurant on a school bus. FYI: While most places had soda included, you do need to pay extra for any alcohol you want. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour. It'd make a fantastic date, friends' day out, birthday gift, or family outing. It's run very efficiently, and it's really fun.

Jon (aka Papa Jon but only WE can call him that) was an incredible tour guide on our pizza tour! He knew so many details about the history of Chicago pizza and what makes the best pizza ingredients and combination of flavors. He made this experience informative, fun, and tasty as hell. He turned me from a ā€œloves pizzaā€ to ā€œpizza fanaticā€. Highly recommend this tour!!
