My partner had recently developed a fondness for horses and wanted to try horseback riding, so we decided to have a one-day introductory lesson last month. Needless to say, it was amazing! We had an excellent time with Susan and her staff - who let us bond with their horses Manny and Muffin by grooming them and feeding them treats - before riding them through the trails. Instructions were given clearly and kindly throughout the ride, and Susan gave us a lovely talk about the history of the land and the barn. After the ride we gave the horses and quick wash and we went on our merry way. We highly recommend Canopy Oak for anyone who is interested in learning how to ride horses, and we would love to pay a visit again sometime in the future!

I absolutely love it here. I have gone on many trail rides and the beginner lesson/trail hibrid was above and beyond any of them. I loved getting to bond with my horse before and after the ride while grooming and helping tack up your horse. They are very safety conscious: they have at least one person walking next to the horses on the ground all the time for beginner rides. The horses are well cared for, I love the small setting and everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, and the trails are beautiful. I enjoyed every minute here.

My daughter has been taking lessons at Canopy Oak Trails for over a year. From her first lesson and every one after, she’s been taught safety first and her continuous acquisition of new skills every class is evident even to us parents with no background in horseback riding. Brianna is a wonderful trainer and teacher. If you want your child to learn how to ride horses and have fun at the same time, this is the stable for you! The place is clean, with a friendly atmosphere, and the horses are extremely well taken care of. We highly recommend Canopy Oak Trails!

Great experience- we got to bond with the horses before riding them . The staff helped 100% with understanding and explaining techniques…I had quite a bit of anxiety & at the end of the day I have a new love and respect for horses . No more fears either . Beautiful location and trails. Ahmazing over all experience .

Our family was looking for something to do off the beaten path and came across Canopy Oak Trails Horse Riding. We are so glad we did!! Susan and Ali, her assistant, were so friendly and taught us so much about horses, grooming, and riding. Very enjoyable experience for the whole family and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Susan took me on a full circle adventure, teaching me how to groom and care for the horse and create a bond to make my riding experience that much richer. I loved it, she shared so much knowledge and there were beautiful wild deer and the trees above were just stunning. I cried a few times, verklempt. There is so much beauty in this world and I got to see a little slice of it on this trail ride.

We have visited twice now, and both times we had a wonderful experience. Susan is very kind and accommodating, and she provides an especially friendly and welcoming atmosphere for her visitors. This is a very nice facility, with beautiful trails and a lovely arena. It is also a clean, quiet, and peaceful place to be. Her horses seem to be really well mannered and extremely well cared for. I highly recommend her stable to anyone looking for a pleasurable riding experience.

My family had a wonderful experience with Susan and her staff at Canopy Oaks Trail. As first time riders, they made my two young children feel at ease with their horses and showed them basic etiquette from safety measures to grooming techniques. We then took a ride around the beautiful property. It was a very positive experience!
