We visited on Christmas morning Dec 2024. We were driving from Key West back up the keys.

We were planning to camp here originally but decided it was just too far from Key West and we didn't want to do the commute back and forth each day.

We stopped by long enough just to take a look around and take some pictures. If we had more time to explore the keys we'd probably have spent at least one night here. We are a scouting family and appreciate the fact that this camp is open to the public to just book.

Just got back from our 3rd annual Spring Break trip. I highly recommend this place for those with kids! You do not have to be affiliated with the Boy Scouts in order to stay here! You are only required to have a child less than 16 (or 18…… I forgot). The area is beautiful and the waters are teaming with marine life!

The only drawback is that it is less than 200 yards from the highway so you do get some road noise at night. But it’s not bad compared to other areas!

There is a separate restroom and bathhouse. The pavilion has propane grills that you can use. You can also purchase firewood directly from them for cheap! I highly recommend this place!

Stayed in their Glamping tent for a week and what a wonderful vacation. The tent was very comfortable. The views were amazing. We were right near the water. Very little light pollution at night, so the night skies were beautiful. And this camp is not far from Key West, Marathon, or a beautiful state park, so there is plenty to go see and do. Can’t wait to go back.

This is a wonderful family vacation experience for those that love camping and want to relax just a little more then normal, not quite glamping, but the famiy tents are spacious offer some privacy from kids if you want that, the beds are comfortable and the air conditioner does just enough on hot days to help you sleep.

The water is not the most swim friendly but the horseshoe beach is a walk down the road or the Bahia State Park is perfect for family day in the water.

The staff is great, the weekend has activities and the site hosts boyscout troops passing through to the other Sea Base advantures in the area.

The fire pits are a bit far from the tents, but each one has its own fire ring with a cooking grill and each also has a extra large picnic table/bench.

Alot of the photos I posted are night photos taken on Gallaxy S22 Ultra in night mode under a full moon.

Bonus... night sky is brilliant from here after lights out, no other buildings or lights on the island.

Great camp in the keys. During the off season they offer family camping to non scout units. You must have a minor with you and please this is a scout camp no alcohol or smoking. There is a well lit Pavillion with gas grills with side burners and water hoses. No sinks, this is a scout camp do so you can use the tubs to clean dishes (since this scout camp, please wipe out all dishes, pots and other things before washing in tub). Showers and toilets are on the second floor of one of the buildings. Glamping tents are available but you still use the central shower and bath. Great place, can't recommend it enough.

It is one of the best place for camping ever. Such friendly staff. So peaceful and quiet atmosphere. They have a pier. Such good beach. Everything is clean. Very affordable and comfortable. You can book the camp online from their website. Highly recommended this camp for everyone. Service animals allowed. I think it’s also a good place to stay with kids!

I loved this place because there were modern toilets and hot showers. Also we had an awesome view of the sunset in the afternoon/evening and at night you could see a lot of stars. The place is well situated across the bridge from Big Pine Key and you are not that far from Key West. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to coming here again with my family.

Loved this little campsite. The hosts were great, and we didn’t expect so many gas grills - with side burners!
