I reached out to Cindy to let her know that I had a trip to the Caribbean booked during my birthday month, July 2024 and asked her if she had any recommendations for good safe excursion tour companies where I would be making Port. Cindy put me in touch directly with a couple of her partner private tour company owners down in that part of the world.

One being Josue Elias Mejia of Let’s Go Roatan Tours. Josue was very attentive and responsive and worked with me directly to help me book an excursion for myself and my two travel companions at our stop in Mahogany Bay, Roatan Honduras. He made it easy for us and was very detailed with information and descriptions and payment. We met our tour guide who Josue sent to pick us up , Klinsman Melendez. He was right where Josue instructed me he would be. He was a great tour guide and by the time our time with him was over, he was like family to us. He was very knowledgeable about the island and answered all of our questions about the local culture. We learned so much from him as he had so much to tell us for everything he asked. I’ve actually stayed in contact with Klinsman and Josue since my trip. I consider them both friends now.

We made memories that will last a lifetime visiting Manawakie Park in the jungle and interacting up close and personal with three toed sloths, capuchin monkeys, and Scarlet Macaws . We visited the Mayak Chocolate Factory where we toured and sampled the local chocolates that are made on the island from the native cacao trees. We also visited the Roatan Rum Company and toured and sampled locally made rums from this 259 year old Rum Distillery making rum since 1765.

We had a great tour of the island from the beautiful jungle to the stunning beaches and bustling villages in between. We asked Klinsman to take us to a great local place to grab lunch and he took us to a local spot nestled amongst the jungle canopy called the paradise of which was a little family owned place serving fresh caught local seafood along with a Honduran staple red beans and rice. I enjoyed local fresh caught fried conch and coconut water fresh inside the coconut shell.

It was a wonderful visit to the island of Roatan and myself and my friends agreed that it was much better and more personal and more detailed than any excursion that we would have booked through the cruise line.

I really appreciate Cindy for making the introduction for me so that I could book a truly memorable excursion for my friends and I on what I would consider my birthday vacation. Cindy has the real deal contacts!
