Finally we had an opportunity to kayak the Mississippi backwaters with BPG Company. It was a phenomenal tour! Absolutely gorgeous scenery. And an amazing amount of wildlife. Guides (Cole and Quin) were very knowledgeable. Felt safe. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to do it again ourselves in another season. The high water after so much rain enhanced our tour as we could paddle through areas not always accessible.

Great tour! We did the flooded forest tour and it was fabulous! Just as explained, start out in the back channels with ability to see beautiful 🦅 eagles and nature as you paddle at a very leisurely pace. Our guides Cole and Espy () were so helpful and enjoyable. A little challenging to cross the Mississippi on a busy Labor Day boat weekend but always felt comfortable. Highly recommend regardless of any paddle experience as really fun.

This was an awesome experience! We were on a weekend girls' trip and booked the morning raptor kayak tour. Quinn was a great guide- my friends were beginners and she kept an easy pace and was very relaxed about the whole thing, but we still felt we got to experience a good chunk of the river. Lots of eagles too! We loved it and were done just in time to grab lunch and enjoy the rest of the afternoon!

It was a beautiful day on the river. Our guide was fantastic and let us go our own pace. Her knowledge of the river and wildlife was very informative and she even pointed out an eagle nest I would have never of seen! Wonderful day, highly recommend.

Gliding through the flooded wooded area between the Chippewa and Mississippi Rivers with a knowledgeable guide was amazing. Two 70+ year old people were accompanied by a great guide, Cole, and enjoyed an adventure in a part of the river one would never likely enter without an experienced leader. We saw eagles, beavers, muskrats, snakes resting on logs, turtles, and jumping fish. We heard many bird calls. Bugs were rare, and we did not need mosquito repellant. The kayaks were easy to use! For those who want a unique adventure, do it!

We had a group of 7 people including grandkids. A few of us had no Kayaking experience. The trip was amazing, safe, fun, and a great workout. Every person on our trip had a wonderful time! I would highly recommend a trip with Broken Paddle as we learned so much about the area and were always safe with our knowledgeable guides.

The flooded forest tour far exceeded our expectations. Our small group has already been discussing doing the same flooded forest tour during different seasons in order to experience the river during different conditions, but we all agree we would be completely happy doing the same tour during the same season as well. Although we have some experience kayaking on lakes our kayaking experience on rivers was fairly limited, but that did not impact our trip at all. When first meeting at Broken Paddle storefront any worries or concerns were immediately put to rest as we encountered the perfect energy and attitude from our guide Laura and the other workers at Broken Paddle. Laura, our guide was the absolute perfect guide for our group. She was knowledgeable about the river, plant and animal life and the outdoors in general. She had a perfect energy and vibe for our group of 4. We lost track of the amount of eagles we saw along the trip and even paddled
directly underneath a number of them as they watched us go by. Thank you Broken Paddle and specifically Laura for an amazing July Saturday on the river. We made family memories that will last a lifetime.

One of best days we’ve ever had in a kayak. Had such great time on the morning Flooded Forest trip, we booked the Sunset/Brewery trip as soon as we got back to the store! Finnegan was absolutely one of the best guides we’ve ever had. Knowledgeable on the local area history and all the wildlife we encountered on the trip. After a short time on the water it felt like we were paddling with someone we had known for years! Thanks for the awesome day Finnegan!!!
