Lighthouse was fine, not the main event on the key when you only have 50 minutes.

Awesome spot! Great views. Beaches! Look for the starfish! Lot of history stemming back to the Honeywell Family. Yes the thermostats! The Lighthouse not aloud to be lit was so interesting!

This non-functioning lighthouse was built to signal to others that the island was open for partying but was never operational. Fortunately, the lighthouse is now used to collect rainwater. The entire island is a tropical paradise and thanks to the Biscayne National Park Institute's tours, we were fortunate to get an hour to explore it. There are numerous species of birds, iguanas, fish, and more to see here. Biscayne National Park is only 5% land and this part is absolutely worth visiting!

A lovely boat to the Boca Chita Key with Biscayne National Park Institute. Stunning Key and a beautiful location. There is even a four berth car garage (and no roads).
Tip: the tour guide on the boat trip legacy tour has a key to open up the lighthouse. 56 steps to the top.

This is a highly underrated lighthouse. It's a quick climb to the top, and you can see Sharks, Eagle Rays, seagrass, and practically the entire island. You can even see the Miami skyline on the horizon. The top of the lighthouse gives you 360-degree views. The only down-side is that you cannot stay up top indefinitely as the tour guides have to open/close the facility for you.

Do yourself a favor and take a boat ride out here and check it out. Book your boat ride through the national park service and they'll open up the lighthouse for you to go up to the top which has a great view! Just please pick your trash up and take it out with you. Biscayne bay is a hidden gem, have fun snorkeling, kayaking and just cooking out on the key.

It's a bit pricey getting there, but it's a great experience. Much cheaper than the guy who took his yacht and didn't even have a naturalist or guide! Lol The tour also went through Stiltsville! The captain (Mo) and naturalist (Anna) were excellent and very interested in their guests having a great experience.
