It was an awesome experience from the moment we walked in the door! We arrived around 4:45 pm with plenty of seating in the bar and waiting area. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was some of the best we've ever had with plenty of leftovers! We will definitely be going back soon!

This weekend we took our first trip up to The Black Otter Supper Club in Hortonville Wisconsin. We arrived just before 5pm . As many are aware, The Black Otter uses a unique number system to keep track of and seat their guests. After stopping at the check in desk we were given a number tag and menus, then proceeded to the bar for pre- dinner drinks. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable and kept our drinks full while at the bar. After a short while our server approached us and introduced herself. She then explained how the seating would work and answered any questions we had about the menu. We also placed our dinner orders with her. My wife chose a Ribeye and scallops combo. I myself went for the 32oz “Queen Cut” . We enjoyed cocktails for as long as we desired. During this time our server checked back with us and told us our table was ready when we were ready to sit. Once we proceeded to our table there was warm bread and butter ready for us. Their amazing soup and salad bar was next. Tons of choices of the usual salad toppings along with prepared salads, cheese speards, several dressings, and 2 homemade soups were offered. The friendly staff prepared your salad just the way you wanted it. We returned to our table to enjoy our soup and salad. Shortly afterwards our dinners arrived. This was the main event! The star of the show!! Although I thought my wife’s Ribeye and scallops were very good the prime rib (which they are famous for) was EXCEPTIONAL!! Cooked perfect, tender, and delicious. Very well seasoned. I couldn’t believe I ate every last bite. Side dishes were tasty as well, but an afterthought to the delicious steak and Prime rib. During the evening we were fortunate to speak with Geri one of the owners. She gave us some history of the restaurant talked about their recent expansion and even was gracious enough to pose for a picture with us. The whole night was spectacular. When in the area, treat yourself and stop in at The Black Otter Supper Club. Definitely one of Wisconsin’s best!!

The Black Otter never disappoints on their delicious steaks. The salad bar is so good, you hardly have room for your dinner. I have never had bad service or even a so so dinner. Family owned too.

Went last night with a group of 11. We did call ahead Wednesday for a Saturday dinner. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very professional. They do not take reservations but per the website they wanted a call ahead for a large group, so we did just that.

We got there right at 3:00 when they opened. They had two waitresses ready to take our order probably before 3:30. Our group still wanted to catch up and have a couple old fashioned’s, this was no problem at all. They told us just let the hostess know when we were ready.

A while later we informed the hostess we were ready, and probably 10 minutes later they came back over to take our orders. I’d say it was probably 15 more minutes before our table was ready. The salad bar was incredible. I’d personally prefer to make my own, but they had employees that would build it per your spec, which was the next best thing. Also had beef stroganoff or Clam Chowder on the salad bar that was included as well. I went with the clam chowder, not the absolute best clam chowder I’ve ever had but certainly sufficient.

Entrees came next, all 11 of us were served at the same time and everyone enjoyed their meals. Several of us had their prime rib, and if you’re a first timer you really need to give this a go. Incredibly flavorful and tender. Such a good prime rib.

All in all they were incredibly professional and organized. I cannot recommend this place enough. Well worth the trip.

A family favorite! We met friends who had not been here before. They are from the Milwaukee area, and I can say that they were blown away! Lots of great supper clubs in the Milwaukee area but this one impressives on every level.

The place was packed already at 4pm on a Saturday. Waited about an hour but lots to talk about and enjoyed a beverage while we waited. Our waitress took our order at the bar and let us know when our table was ready.

The salad bar is excellent and friendly staff serving. Our dinners arrived and were piping hot. Two ordered queen cut prime rib, one ordered steak and shrimp and the other ordered haddock dinner. We all enjoyed our meals and had plenty to take home.

Our friends commented on the staff who never stopped moving and checked in with us several times. Very friendly service. Move to the bar after dinner if you want to visit as there are people waiting and they are turning tables.

Crazy hoppin place for a Saturday night! Fun and all the staff were very nice and attentive. Food was INSANE, even down to the salad! My SO had the super cut prime rib 116oz and my jaw completely dropped when they brought it out, holy moly! I had the porterhouse with cajun parmesan fries. Everything was so delicious!! My SO gets prime rib wherever we go and he said that was the best prime rib he's ever had, and I can second that. Mouthwatering. They only item neither of us were fans of was the soup, but that was menial compared to the rest of our food. Even the prices were amazing! I was expecting well over $300 for our meal (bday meal) but, even with drinks included, our meal was only half of that! Definitely a place to try!!

Traveled 2.5 hours to get here, it was worth every mile. Birthday celebration getaway and The Black Otter was part of it. Outstanding cocktails and the prime rib was some of the best we've had. Service was perfect not too much and not to little. I really liked the salad bar setup first time seeing this method. If in the area have no fear going here!

This place was great. Servers were helpful, atmosphere was nice, and the food was very good.

The salad was the best I've ever had, and the rest of the dinner was also quite well made. The place is designed to get you to overeat.

Sadly I live out of state, so it's unlikely I'll get to eat there again.
