My wife and I came down to celebrate our anniversary this October. We are occasional bikers, but really enjoy e-biking whenever we are in new or scenic places. We have e-biked in some very lovely places around the world, but 17 mile drive is now our new favorite. The team at Big Sur Adventures made it so easy and enjoyable. My wife has a bum knee, but finds biking actually makes it feel better as long as it isn’t too difficult. They found the perfect bikes for us and gave us great advise on where to go and what to see. We only planned on riding one way from Carmel to Monterey, but we loved it so much we rode both directions, stopping for a wonderful dinner on the way back. Thanks again for creating such a wonderful spur of the moment adventure for us.

Zane was fantastic leading our group through Carmel by the sea and really giving us an insight to this lovely coastal town and all of its history and beauty. He was very laid back, kind and super knowledgeable about the ocean, the otters and other marine animals in this area. Thanks Zane for a wonderful adventure on the Pedego E bikes!

This was the perfect way to see Carmel given our limited time frame in the area. Our guide was informative and the real star is of course Carmel. The route we were on took us by houses, beaches, and downtown. The bikes were in good shape and we had no issues with the equipment. Would definitely recommend if you have the time and want a bit of an adventure!

We ended up with a private tour because we were the only two signed up. Zane was wonderful and the bikes were easy to use (it was our first time on e-bikes). Additionally, the young man at the store was so helpful as he set the bikes up for us and gave us instructions on how to use the biks. I would highly recommend this tour!

Big Sur Adventures at Carmel Crossroads is the ideal place to rent an electric bike and cruise through Carmel. The staff there was very patient to explain everything to my three tween/teen kids, and helped my disabled wife get comfortable riding an electric trike. We had a blast! Find your way to the spots in town that interest you, then make your way down to Scenic Drive and slowly take in the fantastic architecture and splendid seascape views that make Carmel unique as you wind your way around to Carmel River Beach.

The bikes were consistently and reliably powerful. My wife did the whole trip without pedaling once, due to knee surgery. My kids zipped on ahead and circled back. We felt safe on the Carmel streets - your mileage may vary, but generally the drivers there are quite patient with bikers. The cost was also pretty reasonable - it worked out to $17.50/hr per person. Their policy is to rent the bike for 4 hours, unless you arrive at the end of the day. We've been lucky to find bikes available because we came on weekdays both times. The staff were very attentive. Beware - you may be tempted to buy one!
