We went for the Christmas lights and activities. It was our first time and we went because they had free admission for educational staff. We saw Santa, did archery, rode the hay wagon, petted goats, sheep and a baby alligator, and walked through the lights. It was nice but there were many lights out, several of the free crafts were also out and signage was not clear about where activities were located. People working there were very nice and it was only crowded during the wait for the hay ride.

We attended the Big River Christmas last night. It was fun but could have been better. The thing we were looking forward to the most, the bouncy house, was soaking wet inside. And they weren't telling anyone this, just letting whole families go in with their toddlers and nice clothes on to get absolutely soaked. We were lucky to have arrived at the entrance right as a family came out and the family warned us with a chuckle that it was wet inside, the woman glancing at me miserably to let me know they were understating the issue (she was soaked). The amusement rides were fun and included in the price, the staff with them were all so sweet and cheery. The food was ridiculously overpriced and not included in the price, so eat before you come. ($9 for a tiny chili dog) ($5 for below average hot chocolate). The only food I can recommend and was worth it was the festive holiday funnel cake, it was so fun! Picture included here. The hay ride line was long (30 minute wait) and fun but alot of lights were broken or missing. They need to do an audit of the hay ride lights, many are not working at all. There didn't seem to be any management present and the lack of oversight really showed. When we arrived the christmas lights out front on the main entrance building werent even lit. Axe throwing was awesome! 20 minute wait time and you sign a waiver. Archery line was way too long so we skipped it. We never found Santa and got lost in a wooded area looking for him. The paths are not well lit, I couldn't see any maps either. I was only able to find the restroom by screaming "has anyone seen a bathroom anywhere?!?" The actual maze was our favorite ride/attraction. Make the maze bigger, we loved that! Lafittes Fury was a fun ride, I recommend going to the bathroom first. Take deep breathes like your giving birth and you wont have a heart attack.🤣 2 amusement rides were broken. The gift shop was underwhelming. The price for this event online was $25 per person. I would say it was not worth that price if I had paid that. I received my tickets as a gift and only paid for food. Lines for rides that got long weren't really controlled by barriers or staff and there was some cutting happening and some angry dads yelling in a few spots. Paired with alcohol this seemed bad. Again I did not see one adult employee anywhere managing anyone. ALL THIS TO SAY WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN FOR THE SUMMER. The lazy river looked fun and that massive climbing course thing seemed really unique and we want to try that out during the day in warmer weather.😄⛱️ One last thing, it might not mean alot but our family notices these things: I am pleased to report that this entire park seems extremely disability friendly and ADA compliant. There is seating everywhere, wide paths and ramps. So bring your grandparents and your disabled friends and family.🦽♿️👍

We had a fantastic time this evening for the veterans and first responders night (my husband is a navy veteran) such an amazing thing for big rivers to do for the community! We loved the hay ride, lights, petting zoo and rides.

The only issue we ran into were the fairground attendants seeming miserable. I wanted to ride the small airplane ride with my special needs daughter, she’s a little bit anxious so she wanted me to sit with her- but she was excited. I only weigh 138 but the girl running it wouldn’t let me ride with her… there were no weight limits listed or height, and then later on I see a teenager who clearly weighs more than me on the same ride. It had me feeling like it was some weird form of discrimination, idk. I felt icky after that. I know the part time employees are not a direct reflection of the core of this park so we will definitely be back, I just want the owner to be aware this happened, as it caused my daughters overall mood to decline after we couldn’t get on.

She still rode her first ride ever, the Texas twister and she had a blast. Such a cool milestone and I’m happy we were able to do that one together!

Went for the first time this Sunday with my five year old. Had a blast and included with the admission ticket you get access to to extra activities. Sadly we didn’t get to experience everything since my son wanted to keep going on the water slides but that wasn’t an issue since the lines weren’t long at all. The only negative experience we had was waiting 40 minutes to ride the 360. Upon arriving to the platform we met a young man stating it was his first job and didn’t know what to do because lack of training. I believe training employees a bit better would help reduce long wait times because 5 minutes in between launches is ridiculously long wait time. Other than that the park is solid.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! My two pups absolutely loved the Waterbark day! They tried out swimming for the first time and got so many treats while there! The staff there was AMAZING! Super kind and very friends with the pups and the owners! I really hope they do this again next year, because we will definitely be back if there is!

We had a wonderful family visit to Big Rivers during their Christmas 6-11 pm special seasonal hours. From the festive lights and music to the hot chocolate, kids' rides, and friendly staff, the experience was truly magical. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the kids smile so much. The one-hour drive from Sugar Land was absolutely worth it!
