I just got home from a scuba review class at Berry Scuba & Swim School. It was fun and very helpful. There was nothing scary or intimidating about it, and the instructor went out of his way to accommodate my 68 year old limitations. The facility was excellent, and the water in the pool was as warm as the Caribbean. They were even able to find goggles for me that worked for my ailing eyesight.

Ordered a mask on 2/22/25 and have yet to receive it or any communication whatsoever after serval emails, calls and voicemails on 3/19/25. I leave for a drive trip next week and am now scrambling to find a solution. Would not recommend this company for online sales and should have read other reviews stating the same before ordering

I had bought a BCD from Berry many years ago when they were in Palatine. Got out of SCUBA and have come back in within the last couple years. I leaned towards them from the prior purchase experience, but gotta say all the comments about lack of customer service and response to inquiries (phone or email) are 100% accurate. There are other options out there for SCUBA experiences.

I've had two refresher courses with these guys so far. Instructors are patient and have your safety and education in their best interest. Super friendly staff. Helped me repair a broken flipper for minimal cost instead of trying to sell me another pair. These guys are great.

The absolute WORST customer experience ever! I paid for a mask in August and have called and emailed. All ignored. After speaking with Nick one time and him saying what I ordered was out of stock but he’d switch it with something else and I would have it in a week, I have heard and received NOTHING!!
Do not buy from these CROOKS!! They will just lie and keep your money!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS “company”

I've had nothing but excellent experiences with Nick, Mujey, and his staff so far. I purchased all my gear from him and I would say the prices were fair (you cant compare in store prices to amazon people the small guy need to make a living somehow) which he gave me a 10% discount because I packaged it together. They have been accommodating and extremely helpful with all of my needs. I haven't tried ordering anything online but then again I don't know why you would. If you're local just go to the shop...

Yes it's a small shop and I run a small business myself so I understand not always being able to answer the phone right away.

Small shop, it's probably great in person, however I would not recommend ordering items from their website

Original order was place on 2/28 with an 2-day shipping option selected via the Seller's website selected at checkout. 7 days after placing the order, I had not heard from the seller regarding my shipment - so I sent an email to the seller. After no response from the seller for another week, I called their shop several times. Eventually on Friday 3/17, I was able to get in contact with Nick from the Dive Shop. He acknowledged that they had not even processed my order from several weeks back. He also told me he would not send the shipment via 2-day express shipping because "you didn't pay enough in shipping" - not really my issue as I selected the option on their website. If there is an issue with their shipping rates, I suggest they fix that. He eventually stated he would send the item via UPS ground "sometime in the next few days" - it was sent on 3/20. I asked if he would refund me the shipping charge and he said he would refund me the difference between what I paid in shipping and the actual shipping rates. The item eventually arrived on 3/23, nearly a month after being ordered. It's now 4/5 and I have yet to receive the refund promised.
