One of our Christmas events usually done yearly is the Belleville Christkindlmarkt at the square...

It was chilly... I should say cold... but we enjoyed seeing different vendors displaying their items and enjoyed the atmosphere and fun of being there...

There was also a horse and sleigh ride... which we did not do this year... but enjoyed when we visited last year... a nice added touch... especially for children...

And of course Santa was in... and there was a line to visit Santa...

A nice local Christmas tradition...

Small Christkindlmarket. If you want the real experience, you'll have to head to Chicago. I was hoping to find imported German candies and glass ornaments, only one booth for ornaments, but not the type I wanted. It was a nice experience, just not everything I hoped for.

The market is incredibly small, and most of the stalls are just selling the sort of knockoffs you find at mall kiosks. Absolutely not worth it.

So these types of things are not my favorites. But it's the season and my spouse wanted to go. I was pleasantly surprised. Small number of vendors but a very nice mix. Some really great food vendors with authentic cuisine. Others had items you won't find at the typical store. Belleville did right with this one.

We got to come and experience the Belleville Christkindl event.. Very nice.. Lovely goodies for sale.. Sweet people at the booths.. We got several things including a purse and wallet from the felted wool pretties booth... Going to go again Monday and check it out closer.. A lot of fun..

The rudest, most judgemental and passive aggressive people are in charge of this event and treat their customers and vendors very poorly. Take your business elsewhere.

Not very large, but some cute stalls! Definitely a fun, festive time
