You are not allowed to bring your backpack, phone, or camera. We would have liked to bring our on phone/camera to take our own as well because some of the photographers aren't going to do right. We were there all day/full access. We did dune buggies, stopped at a "cenote," went to a village, and tried some chocolate and coffee and the option of the cigars. Our guide choco banana was fun. Afterward, we had a free Dominican lunch, which was delicious. Drinks are not included. I would say the buggies were my favorite part. I would suggest another pair of clothes. Wear swim shoes and also bring another pair of shoes. Bring your towel with you on the buggy ride. Then we went ziplining afterwards, I kept twisting so it wasn't very enjoyable, but the scenery was nice. Staff seemed miserable and did not show themselves friendly. After that, we went horseback riding. I liked this activity as well. Make sure to bring some bug spray! It is a long ride and you will need it. After that was the waterfall. We did not go to that, because we were tired, wet, and dirty. So, we left about an hour to an hour and a half early. I would recommend just doing some activities, but not an all-day thing. Transportation was provided to and from our hotel. My friend and I was able to bring out fanny/bum bags. Also, our photos were $79 USD

My family of 33 paid for each individual ticket. We were not allowed to ride by ourselves on the buggy. We needed to pair up or else you get charged extra even though we paid for individual tickets. The buggy ride was terrible. I could literally walk faster than the pace we were going. The pace was so slow and our buggies kept stopping. My parents buggy ran out of fuel, then my aunt and her daughter's buggy stopped working. And this happened a few more times. Lunch was included but you had to buy your own drinks 3-5 USD. We were also not allowed to bring bags, so we had to purchase a "large" 9$ USD locker. Could barely fit 2 beach bags, in fact it did not fit our totes we had to empty our water bottles and snacks. We weren't allowed bags on the buggy ride but when another group came they all had their bags so then we were allowed our fanny packs. They won't let you take pictures so they could charge you pictures and sell them to you for an absurd price. I didnt enjoy this place. I only gave one star for the lagoon and pool. It was pretty nice

We had an amazing time in the Polaris Dune Buggies, going to the caves and enjoying the waterfall pool. You get to taste a cigar, hot chocolate, coffee and even some Mama Juana. Big Willy and Carlos were amazing guides and we would highly recommend a day at the park. Authentic Dominican lunch also provided. You really can’t beat it for the price. They also offer horse back riding and zip lining but we thought four hours was good and the Polaris package was amazing. It’s a great day away from the hotel and they provide transportation to and from. Go, enjoy and live your best life!!

Our group of 5 adults came here for the buggy ride adventure and had a relatively good time. The buggies were $99 per rider or driver. $139 for Polaris. However, if you want the Polaris (like us), you really need to reserve well in advance. Otherwise, you will get stuck with the 2 or 4 seater buggies. The group we had was part of the 3 hour tour. We left the Catalonia at 8:20am and we returned approximately 3pm. Picking up and dropping off people at resorts takes a while. So plan to be flexible. Also, when they say NO Devices, they really mean it. The photo package was $140 USD! So expensive! But the convenience of not having to take your own photos is nice. But is it necessary to charge $140? Also they do have a water & restroom stop at the cenote which is nice. If you spend too much time eating lunch, then you might miss the waterfall...like we did. They try to keep the tour moving. Sadly, the guests don't always listen and cooperate. One irresponsible guest and his younger relative ran over a staff member's foot while he was helping the car in front of us. Everyone that saw yelled at the pair but they didn't seem to care. Sad. Another couple of women kept slowing down and then racing off in front of us. This made it difficult to see and breathe even with a gator, hat and glasses on. Don't swim with your gator on. It makes it harder to breathe through until it dries.

Beautiful day to experience Splash with Emotion and it was all the water activities! Andres was welcoming and our tour guide was Leonardo. I love that the tour guide was with us the whole time and walked us from each activity. Also loved that we got to try the cigars and hot chocolate or coffee.
It was a good time with my best friend and 3 kiddos (12, 13, 14). Thanks Bavaro!

Day 4: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

We went on an excursion we booked through the hotel. Transportation picked us up at 11 AM. We did the buggies with a group, which was a lot of fun. Our first stop was to a cenote, which are natural sinkholes or deep wells that are filled with water and are found in limestone region. This cenote was founded in 2015 and developed in 2021 for visitors’ use. We stayed there for 20 minutes. We were unaware we needed to bring our own towels so we didn’t get in.

We got back on the buggies and went to a Dominican village like museum where we sampled local coffee and hot chocolate. This was a 30 minute stop.

Lastly, we drove the buggies to grab lunch. The lunch was a Dominican lunch that consisted of chicken with beans and rice and a side of plantains. I fed the chicken to the cats on site since it wasn’t very flavorful.

We walked over to the waterfall, which was basically a pool with a man-made pool decorative waterfall.

We opted out of doing the horseback riding so that we could take the 3 PM shuttle back to the hotel. The excursion was a bit underwhelming and was on a tourist site rather than being out in the city. Unfortunately I didn’t get many pictures. The excursion was pretty disorganized. They told us to put our phones in the lockers. We were unaware of that all the stops were included in the buggy ride. They then tried to sell us their pictures in a package for $80.

I would not recommend this place. It was way overpriced, super slow pace, and disorganized..

IT'S A LONG ONE BUT A MUST READ!! We signed up for buggies, a cenote swim, man made waterfall swim and tour of a true Dominican village tour....Ok let me start this by saying we were told this excursion would be a 4 hour adventure from 10:30-2:30. We were picked up on time at 10:30... HOWEVER we didn't return to our hotel until 5:30! We were also told this was a cenote and was NOT MAN MADE & ONLY THE WATERFALL AREA WAS MAN MADE. We booked our excursion thru our airport transportation which was booked with our Delta vacation package. Either this gentleman was extremely misinformed or they are allowed to say whatever they'd like in order to sell the package. So on top of that let's dive in. If getting dirty isn't for you do not do not do not sign up for the buggies/Polaris part. We did the buggies they attempted to up sell us on arrival to upgrade to a Polaris for another $150 on top of the $270 we already paid for the excursion.. No thank you and I'm glad we didn't because the buggies were just as fun (in our opinion the buggies were the only fun part of this) you are only allowed to go so fast so the upgrade is NOT with it. After we checked in and turned down the upgrade we had to buy face covers(you will want to buy one if you don't bring one trust me along with sunglasses or goggles it's extremely dusty) then off we were to put our backpack in a locker we head to rent because you're not allowed to take bags, phones or go pros on the buggies which is when you will visit the blue lagoon if you have that portion included in your package. I however opted to still take my phone in a ziplock bag YOU WILL NEED IT TO PROTECT ANYTHING IMPORTANT. You will get very dirty.. So will the towel you bring with you I'd try to sit on it or put it behind you somehow if you want a simi clean one for when you're done. Then was waited... For a whole 40min almost before we even got started on the buggy rides... When you finally get into your buggies it's more waiting.. Waiting on ppl to get in waiting when they break down waiting around at every stop you make..... I'm sure your catching my point...again this was very much not at all in any way a cenote or natural lagoon that you visit why they ask you to rinse off before you enter it? I'm guessing is so it's less cleaning they have to do to the water lol. After 15 min of swimming in a dirty pool then you drive a bit more to look at how true Dominican villages are lol it's a walk thru of a few mini"houses" smh I got a better look at how they live on the drive to the location again a laugh. Next your all taken into a store where you try hot coco and coffee even tho at this point your covered in mudd and sweating you butt off but sure coffee and hot chocolate sounds great said NO ONE while the sips they give you are tasty it's not worth having to sit in uncomfortable nastiness.. Next back on the buggies again to finally go shower lol NOT they wanna talk more!! Nope we walked away from that speech we were stopped by a few ppl and I just shook my head and said I'm going to the bathroom I didn't care to hear anything anyone had to say I had to rinse off! I'm not a prissy princess but yo enough was enough so I have no idea what was said at that speech I was over the talks.. our son chose to jump in the other man made waterfall pool for about 5 min it was so murky you can miss the steps watch it..we had a traditional lunch after that which was pretty good or it was that we were just starving at that point we weren't sure lol. Then we headed back to guess what wait some more!! A whole 45 min almost before we finally headed back to our resort. This was a long read and if you stuck thru it just know I could of really went into detail of how bad this really was. It absolutely wasn't worth being gone from our resort all damn day! You live you learn... Let our experience be your learning lesson ?

Go up
