rathon, FL||||This past weekend, my family and I stayed at Banana Bay Resort in Marathon, Florida, and had a wonderful experience. Nori, the front desk manager, was incredibly helpful when we realized we had mistakenly booked our stay for March instead of this weekend. She quickly resolved the issue and accommodated us right away, ensuring we had a smooth check-in and a great start to our trip.||||The resort was clean, peaceful, and had relaxing amenities close to the water. A really good place for family friendly vacation. Room was nice, had a rain shower. Breakfast buffet was very good too. Parking is very close to where you stay. And the best part was the marina. There was seating and hammocks. We would spend our mornings and nights chilling there and enjoying the calm ocean breeze. If we come back to the Keys, I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Negative: The photos made it seem like there was beach access and the grounds were a bit more updated than they actually were and the tiki bar was not open during the time we were there. Jamie was very friendly and helpful during my stay, as was the lady at breakfast, very attentive to everything. I loved the place, very nice and clean and with wonderful views. We really enjoyed the pool. Thank you, we will definitely return and recommend it.

Seriously I don't know where all the bad comments are coming from. Our stay was awesome, the room was modern, clean and smelled good! There's AC and a mini fridge. The bathroom was really nice too, ceramic tiles for the floors and walls and it was a rainfall showerhead the pressure was good too. We had a view on the parking lot but there's a lot of trees and plants so it didn't look bad at all! When we arrived everything was well explained about the pool, beach, tiki bar, tennis court and where our room was. In the morning there was a buffet with eggs, sausage, cheese, fruits, muffins, cookies, cereal, coffee and juice. Our dog was also well welcomed. We played with him in the tennis court when there was no one. Anyway, GREAT HOTEL if we ever come back in the Keys we'll for sure stay here again.

Charm with a lack of function, and understaffed. The hotel interior was newly painted and simply decorated with a beach-y motif. There was a water bottle filling unit in one building but seemed to be missing in the other. Wheelchair accessible room had well placed grab bars and a lovely roll in shower with a stable shower seat. Unfortunately , the lift at the pool was unusable because the front desk person did not know where the controlling unit was kept. She “called someone”, but no one showed up to assist. The pool bar appeared to offer canned beer and cider, but was unmanned. The hot tub was out of order. Safe in the room did not work. The phone also did not work- not even to call the front desk. Free breakfast was prepackaged food as well as eggs and sausage, which ran out quickly. The person bringing out food and refilling juice was also manning the front desk, which explains why the garbage can was overflowing. Overall a disappointing stay.

There is a $54 dollar fee for the amenities charged PER night of your stay. I didn't read the fine print from booking.com until the staff at the front desk pointed it out at the bottom of my confirmation email. Aside from this, the hotel was fine. Clean enough. The shower has no place to put your soap but on the floor. The mini fridge only goes down to 40°F. Pools were nice.

This isn't a resort - it is essentially a motel. If you have that in mind when booking you will enjoy. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean. However, the pool was freezing, and the pool area was in rough shape. Florida health closed the hot tub. We essentially couldn't use any of the "resort" features. They do offer beach towels and chairs to borrow which was helpful. Breakfast was very basic. Some days fruit- other days no fruit. Set your expectations accordingly and it will be a good stay.
