Explore the preserve by foot or by guided "buggy" tour. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I have an intellectually disabled and autistic child and the staff members were really great with him. We had many good photo opportunities and everyone had a fantastic time! The price for the tour was very affordable compared to most places like this, and the gift shop had a little something for everyone in every price range. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. The Gator Shack Restaurant closes at 2pm every day. We did not get to eat there, but we heard that people travel from all over to eat the famous gator bites! We will definitely be back!

What an unforgettable adventure at Babcock Ranch Swamp Buggy Tour! This tour is a perfect blend of wildlife, history, and fun. Riding through the ranch in the swamp buggy was such a unique experience—it’s like stepping into the heart of Florida’s natural beauty (for more wet experience consider August and September).
We saw so much wildlife (and not only wild) along the way—different kinds of cows, wild pigs (including boars and sows), and even alligators up close! The highlight for me was the alligator bridge. It’s such a cool feature and gave us a close (but safe) view of these fascinating creatures in their habitat.
Our guide, Brian, was absolutely fantastic. He shared so much knowledge about Florida’s history and the ranch itself, making the experience both educational and engaging. His passion and storytelling made the tour even more special.
After the tour, we stopped by the on-site café, which was a great way to relax and grab a bite while soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun and educational outdoor adventure. It’s a great way to connect with Florida’s history, wildlife, and natural landscapes. Five stars all the way!

We had a great time! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable on all of the wildlife and we saw plenty! She also described the different ecosystems found on Babcock Ranch. We were told about the Ranch's history and the work performed by the cowboys that live on the ranch. Alligators of all sizes were everywhere in the Cypress swamp! We saw a Fishing spider, that thing was huge! Our tour guide gave all of us a chance to pet some baby alligators and they're surprisingly soft! We brought our grandchildren, ages 5 to 13 and everyone enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend!

Such a great tour! We booked on someone else's recommendation- this did not disappoint! Our tour guide was Brad! He gave the best narration of the history of the land and of south Florida. His enthusiasm, knowledge, and love of the land beamed from all he said! Then of course the stars of the show, alligators, birds, deer, cattle, hogs...were plentiful in all areas!
We enjoyed all the stories, knowledge, and movie buff lore!
We highly recommend going on this tour.
And everyone on our tour hopes that Brad gets his Sean Connery ditch , dignified with a plaque one day!

We had a great afternoon at the Babcock Ranch Eco Tour. They have a nice little gift shop with a lot of great things to pick out to remember your trip. The tour is given on a school bus and you get to see different eco systems and animals native to Florida. After the tour you can even get some gator bites!

What an experience! Worth every penny and time. Make reservations before showing up because they sell out quickly. Very safe for all ages and very educational as well. Try to get Brad as your tour guide since he is a history buff, and he is very pleasant. We saw many animals up close multiple times throughout the tour. I'm definitely coming back during wet season!

Friendly knowledgeable tour guide, lots of wildlife you can see from within feet of your seat on the open air bus. 90 minute tours leave every half hour in the winter months. Easily take pictures from the bus with your phone but if you have a camera with a medium telephoto lens you'll be rewarded with some great photos. Gators, feral hogs, horses, steer, coons, working dogs, native plants and lots of birds visible during tour. Picnic lunches allowed in designated area. Prebuy tickets online to guarantee a spot on the tour. 4 and 7 year old absolutely loved it and wanted to go again when the tour ended. Michelle was our driver and guide and did a fantastic job.

This was a great Eco Tour! Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, informative, and humorous. While we visited during the "dry" season, we encountered plenty of wildlife. The hogs were a surprise!
Would recommend, and I would love to visit again!
