This is our second recent stay. The first time we stayed in the main hotel, and I loved the decor and layout of our room, but I would not stay in that location again due to the sound echoing into our room from guests walking above. It was pretty loud well into the night...||During our stay last week, we were in the motel section, in a family suite I specifically selected because the room description stated and showed (in photos) that there would be a kitchenette. Upon check-in we learned that there is only one such room with the design advertised in the photo, and it had been occupied starting the day before our arrival. It actually mattered to me because with two young children I was looking for counter space to prepare snacks and small meals, which would save us money while on vacation. I relayed this to the front desk staff and asked for the manger to please call me. Never heard back. The staff seems overwhelmed and possibly not well-trained. Upon check-in I had also been informed that there was a wedding occurring on site that weekend so those guests would be given priority check-in for whichever rooms were available first, even though there was a line of us, non-wedding guests, waiting by 4:00 PM to get into our rooms. ||Housekeeping appeared to be working hard and left cute Easter egg treats around our room (much appreciated by my children). ||The coffee needs help.

The room in Mill House D was nice, but the previous guest drank beer and smoked outside. Unfortunately, it was not cleaned up, and the patio floor was sticky. The robo generated text greeted me, so I texted back that we needed the patio cleaned. Nothing happened. The restaurant is closed again. The distance to downtown is a bit much to walk with a young family. The shower was awesome with its rain feature. The wine tasting hour was much better before COVID since there was meat and cheese and was located in a room for tasting. It had a much more homey feel in the past. I may stay again. My kids enjoyed the room, as did my wife. The walls are thin, and a group next door talked loudly until it was reported. Lastly, if you stay downstairs, you will hear walking all night if the above people are active.

We have driven past the Apple Farm Inn many times and wanted to someday find an opportunity to stay there. Last week, we finally fulfilled our desire and stayed there for three days. The room that we had was excellent and met our expectations in every way. The description of their breakfast on the website is a stretch of imagination, as the "fresh baked" muffins had been in the cooler for a while. Compared to breakfast at major chain hotels, it really was not very good. For the afternoon wine tasting, they did offer us an ounce or two of a wine and had trail mix as an accompaniment. One very annoying aspect was that we found out late in the day that our room hadn't been cleaned because we hadn't asked for that service. Nothing was mentioned about that at checkout. Also, their marketplace and wine cellar were closed for remodeling and nothing was indicated on the website (restaurant only).

The hotel exceeded my expectations. Close to downtown and Cal Poly where by daughter is going to school. The rooms are very comfortable and cute and have everything you need. The heated pool, hot tub ,tea, coffee and apple cider and cookies were great perks as well- also a comfort. Really comfy bed and sheets blankets. Don’t expect an early check in, but you can get checked in by 3 or 3:30pm and be satisfied! Really great experience. The only thing to consider is street noise as you are close to a highway and main road but otherwise really comfortable, slept well, and great place to stay!

Such a wonderful property. Very clean, efficient and friendly staff and nice little perks (hot cider, coffee tea, cookies and wine tasting in the lobby). Large rooms that feel very homey. Country vibe, which is not really my style yet makes for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. I have stayed here twice before and will be back.

Apple Farm Inn is a fine hotel but they have an Amenities fee for the items that are supposed to be included. The "Included/Complimentary Amenities with Every Stay" listed on the website is false advertisement as there is a daily Amenities fee! If you don't view the FAQ, you would not see that there is an Amenities fee; under "What does the amenities fee include?". Then under FAQ "Does the Apple Farm Inn provide free Wi-Fi?", it states the Wi-Fi is complimentary! But it's listed as part of the Amenities fee! I communicated with management on clarification of the Amenities fee but the feedback was "some of the items are complimentary and some of them are covered by an amenity fee". They did not want to acknowledge that the website says all the Amenities are included! I've been staying at the Apple Farm Inn for years in my visit to SLO but this was the first time encountering any kind of Amenities fee.

Reserved an early check in reservation, but it wasn't honored. The front desk clerk told me I'd have to wait another 2-3 hours. This was not good after a 5 hour drive. His apathetic attitude didn't help. ||The rooms are okay. Not terrible, not great, just okay. They're small, but for one person it was fine. The shower took a long time to get beyond lukewarm, but after a good 5 minutes, it did get there. ||The sockets are poorly located. Bring extra long extension cords for your devices; you'll need them. Also, bring a three pronged connector if you can because the regular two-pronged ones will fall out of the socket.||But at least I wasn't worried about my car getting vandalized. The area is solid and an easy walk to downtown. The price is why I decided to give this place a shot, so I can live with all the negatives. Also, this was for a business trip, which means that bare bones works. If it were personal e.g. a weekend getaway, I wouldn't stay there. ||Finally, the wifi is good.

The Apple Farm Inn was such an awesome experience. The staff were exceptional!! They were quite busy, and were working very hard with a smile to take care of all the people checking in and checking out. The room was so very clean and the grounds were beautiful. I would definitely stay here again. The room was large and had a gas fireplace. Also, the bed was so comfortable and good quality linen.
