Thank you for your response, albeit two months later. I appreciate the effort to clarify your policies, but I must emphasize that my dissatisfaction stems not from a misunderstanding on my part, but from the clear communication breakdown and mismanagement on yours.

First, let me address your claim that I may have misinterpreted the communication. Amber explicitly informed me that we would wait for the program coordinator’s approval before I needed to upload any required documents. This was the basis on which I proceeded with the payment, under the assurance that if the application did not proceed, a full refund would be possible. Your response does not address why, after making the payment, Amber became unresponsive and why I had to involve the official AMOpportunities email to get any answers. This lack of communication and clarity is the core issue.

Second, you mention that I selected a "last-minute" program on May 3rd, yet I was not made aware of the urgency and potential risks associated with this selection until it was too late. I was only informed on May 14th by Brook that I needed to upload documents promptly, which I immediately began doing. This was the first time I was made aware of the time-sensitive nature of the process, which contradicts your assertion that I was aware of the urgency from the beginning.

Moreover, the program required a 45-day document review period, a fact that was never communicated to me until after I had already committed. If your team knew about these strict deadlines, it begs the question why I was allowed to proceed with a selection that was, from the start, impossible to meet within the given timeframe.

Finally, I appreciate your offer to switch to another month, but this does not address the fundamental issue that I was misled and then held responsible for a situation that was clearly a result of poor communication and coordination on your part. My request for a refund was based on the fact that I was not provided with the necessary information to make an informed decision, leading to this unfortunate outcome.

I strongly urge you to reassess how you communicate with and manage your clients, to prevent others from experiencing the same issues I have faced.

I strongly advise against choosing this company. This is based on my personal experience. Before you make the payment, their responses are very prompt. However, after you pay, their replies become extremely slow. Additionally, their instructions for the documents applicants need to submit are unclear. After a long time of submitting your documents, they may tell you that something is not acceptable. After you make the necessary corrections, they take a long time again to inform you that another document is not up to their standards. This results in a continuous waste of time. When you call them, they claim to be busy or say that everything is fine, yet your rotation might start in two weeks, and you still have no idea if your application is approved. You are left in the dark about which hospital you will be applying to and who to contact. Therefore, I want to warn everyone not to choose this company.

I had a highly disappointing experience with AMOpportunities. Initially, Amber, the coordinator, told me we would wait for the program coordinator’s approval before I needed to upload any required documents. She assured me that if the application did not proceed, a full refund would be possible.

However, after I paid, Amber stopped responding to my inquiries. I had to CC the official AMOpportunities email to get any response, and then they assigned another coordinator, Brook. Brook informed me on May 14th that I needed to upload documents, which I promptly began doing. This is concerning, as my rotation starts on June 7th, and the hospital takes 45 days to review the documents.

Despite my efforts, I received an update a few days later from Brook stating there was insufficient time to process my paperwork. Even though I inquired about some of the required documents and how they get done, Brook did not answer, which was shocking because we were supposedly waiting for the program coordinator’s approval before taking further steps. It raises the question of why Amber would have me apply and make a payment if the hospital needed 45 days to review my documents and there wasn't enough time.

Given the communication issues and the fact that the program I applied for is no longer available, I requested a full refund. Unfortunately, this request has not been honored, despite Amber's previous assurances.

This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional. I do not recommend AMOpportunities due to their lack of clear communication and failure to follow through on their promises.

A Clinical Rotation with AMO as a medical student from Sierra Leone was a turning point for my vision of medical practice.
It helped introduced me to modern medicine practice with a Top physician in Staten Island New York ,I was worried it would be a difficult journey but it was the most amazing experience with simplified care techniques and learning a lot of skills with fun.
Having met people from different cultures and backgrounds in this big city and amazing community was a moment worth remembering in my lives journey.
But most amazing of all was how the AMO team helped me with my applications , processing of documents and having my visa in a very smooth manner.

I’ll recommend AMO to everyone!
And I can’t wait to go on my Second rotation!

I've done 2 in-person and one virtual pathology rotation with them. Everything was a wonderful experience. From applications to the rotation to registration, to post-rotation follow-up for uploading of LoRs, I received great assistance and service. True, during the summer months patience is key when corresponding with rotation coaches, but Coach W. was amazing in following-up every question I had. There was even a scheduling glitch with one of my rotations, but he made it work so it could be moved up.
The rotations themselves were awesome. Hands-on pathology in Chicago and Niagra Falls, NY were valuable learning experiences with knowledgeable and supportive mentors. They were in-hospital AP/CP rotations. A large variety of cases, and I was given a lot of responsibility to build experience. I highly recommend their rotations!

This is an absolute con. They falsely advertise the rotations and should be sued for it. They rope you in by advertising big names and top rated residency programs, but in reality the preceptor has NO relation to these infamous universities or residency programs. You will be working with the preceptor in their private clinic and will ONLY observe despite paying extra for malpractice insurance. Also note that most of these 'big names' don't accept IMGs. The desperately sought ‘letter of recommendation’ will NOT have a university/hospital letterhead, it will have the preceptors private clinic letterhead. The sales personnel are worse than car salesmen, quick to respond to your enquiries initially, then ignoring you after you’ve paid. When questioned about the details of any given rotation, their responses are lacking. They are just exploiting vulnerable foreigners who have no insight into the process. AMO had falsely advertised on their website - my rotation was 3 days a week and I barely had 20 hours/week of experience which I paid $2800 for. This was advertised as a 6 day a week placement. LORs are not necessary. I matched with 1 LOR from a university hospital that I arranged when in medical school, 1 character reference and 1 LOR from my home country. I did not even use the AMO fake LOR.

I booked a rotation and was notified last second of my supervising preceptor’s inability to precept, also Was notified of their poor cancellation policy. Basically, you cannot cancel with this company and they will do their best to ensure that you don’t by lack of transparency. I was extremely disappointed in the supervisor I spoke to and would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for reasonably priced rotations. They are really trying to save themselves more than students. My friend who successfully completed a rotation had a totally different experience than me. Not cool.
