The AIARE 1 class with Tim Mincey from Alpenglow was excellent. Tim is incredibly knowledgeable and a great instructor. His teaching style was perfect for the unique course material. We had great learning conditions and he was able to utilize the fresh snow to make sure we got the most out of our time together. Thanks Tim!

My best friend and I did a guided snowshoeing hike with Grace and the whole experience was PHENOMENAL. From Grace being professional and informative from the beginning. She began briefing with safety (showing us which tools they used to judge the conditions) and what gear to bring and what to look for. As we began the venture, we were able to go a little farther than the normal guided tour because of our fitness and we got to check out inspiration point. Grace expertly navigated us through lots of terrain, was fun, and overall wonderful. I really enjoyed her knowledge on the types of rocks and avalanche warning signs. Learning, exploring, and doing it safely with a great crew can’t be beat. Loved the hot choco, waterfalls, and incredible views. I could not be more impressed with the quality of guides, equipment and community. Super stoked that a place like this exists, you have a forever customer in me. ❤️

We had an awesome time with Daryl doing a backcountry tour in the Tahoe area. We had to change our plans a bit based on conditions, but Daryl was prepared with a backup tour that still gave us 5x runs of great, untracked powder (see video). Along the way, we also picked up some tips on safety, good touring zones in the area, and skiing technique - would definitely recommend!

We have been on several trips with Alpenglow and it is always a great time! Highly recommend their avalanche safety courses, Tahoe ski days such as the National Geographic Bowl from Palisades Tahoe, and intro ski mountaineering courses to name a few! We hope to go on one of their Shasta ski trips this spring, and I have no doubt it will be amazing. Awesome friendly and knowledgeable guides, and wonderful admin staff. Always a great experience!

The team at Alpenglow was great! We had to get creative due to weather conditions and ended up with an experience that was even better than what we had originally planned and anticipated. Just finished a fantastic trip up to the Frog Lake Huts with Alpenglow Expeditions!! The scenery was just stunning and our awesome guides, Pete and Alex, could not have been more fun and helpful. The sleeping huts were modern and inviting and the main hut was a great meeting place at the end of the day. Pete and Alex made sure each guest was comfortable and safe. Would absolutely do this trip again or any trip with Alpenglow. Thanks Pete and Alex!!

The Alpenglow team is fantastic! Riding in the Nat Geo Bowl on the backside of Palisades Tahoe was an amazing experience. Their guides are not only knowledgeable and credible but also legendary. They share the history of the area with humor and charm. Can't wait for another adventure with you all soon!

I am getting into touring in the backcountry after being an avid skier since I was 5 years old (I am considerably past that age!!). I ski in the Tahoe region regularly, and booked an intro tour with Alpenglow. Their communication and planning are superb. The guid Timothy was first rate. Checked in with our tour members to make sure we were on board with the plan. An excellent, thoughtful, risk adjusted plan that we both learned a ton from, AND had an amazing day skinning and skiing fresh tracks. Just a superb experience. I have my AIARE Level One booked with them as well for tomorrow and the day after. The class work was completed remotely online and is also superb. Can't wait to learn more and then tour more with people I can trust.

Update: Completed Level One AIARE course and it was amazing. I learned so much and feel so much more confident to keep expanding my skills. Just an amazing experience AND great skiing to boot with the tail end of a huge storm. The guides are really excellent at keeping you safe, but making sure you learn to make decisions, evaluate terrain, communicate and listen to team input. I can not recommend this highly enough. AND don't be intimidated, a whole bunch of our group were locals who were instructors, ski team coaches, and the like, but they were all there to learn, just like me. And we had a great experience together.
